Bloating and gas problems

I was wondering why you have so much gas and pain after surgery? I am 10 days post op and still have alot of pain from gas. I feel like sometimes I will explode !! Have others had the same problem or am I just goofy ?? Thanks

When I talked to my doc she said that when we are still (lying down or sitting) for a long time - whether or not we've had surgery - our bowels sort of stop working temporarily. The best thing to do is keep moving so the bowels keep moving. Walk, walk, and walk! I've had gas problems for years, and I know myselft that if I sit (on a bus, etc.) for a long time, I really start to hurt.

I also like Gas-X, those little green pills!
