Hi I am nearly 10 weeks post op and have been having excruciating pain on my left abdominal side. Bowel movements have been tough and painful on the left side. Went to hospital today and there is no infections. Off to have an ultra sound in case it is an ovarian cyst. Anyone else had this happen post op?
Yes, I have been dealing with multiple ovarian cysts after surgery and now have fluid build up in the Fallopian tubes. This showed up on an ultrasound last week.
Same symptoms you describe but bilateral. An achy heavy feeling in the pelvis and abdominal swelling, too. I have a follow up sonogram in January. But if the pain gets unbearable, my doc said more surgery. Ugh. I have had many cysts in the past and mine usually rupture or dissolve on the own. So I have never needed to take action before. Hoping all this fluid just magically goes away!
I hope you get some answers and feel better soon. After all these weeks we deserve to feel better than this. But I guess there could be worse things.
Thanks GraceSeeker, it could be worse we could be back at pre op and be in a bit more pain. I was hoping I was past the pain and doctors appointments and ultra sounds the last 10 weeks have been bliss. Hope you start to feel better soon as well.... Big hugs
The main reason I had a total was because of constant cysts. I can't imagine only having a partial for me. everything else was 100% ok but I made them take it all. I didn't want to go through any more of the crap I had. good luck though. I know how you feel. They made me gain weight, tired, grumpy, bloated!, constipated, and generally feel like total blah.
Hello all the ultra sound results are right ovary has volume of 31cc and left has 6cc. There is a 35mm complicated cyst on the left with multiple separations but no increase in vascularity. Right kidney 128mm left 110mm. Follow up in 3 months....... Still have pain and feel pretty exhausted. From I have read about this type if cyst is that it is not good and looks like I will be needing surgery again. Off to the doctor again tomorrow so I will see what happens then (see how up to date he is with this) I will be along to go and see my specialist again.
I have a cyst on right ovary. Only ovary I have. I have had swelling and pain for months now. I am six months post op and I swear I was less swollen and in less pain at a month post op. How do you get rid of the fluid retention in belly and thighs and breasts from the cyst? Ican't deal with itmuch longer. I am so uncomfortable. My pants barely button some days. HELP!!!!
I am too having that an it boo!! I had a partial hysterectomy 8-10-11 then internal bleed surgery 8-12-11! This january of 2012 i had my right ovayr removed do to pain and etc!! I paid my obygn to take the left one out but she said I would go to menoupause and etc!! ILast month I had bad back pain and this week so much pain! Went to Er an internal uktra so panful and found 3 cysts on the left! I so tired of pain and loking bloated! any suggesdtions I do not wanna be on birth control
Yes, sounds like me. I also had internal bleed after my hysterectomy. Spent five days in hospital. So much pain. They discharged me on morphine and only gave me 30 percs. Lasted 2 1/2 days. But this cyst has to be the reason for the discomfort and bloating cause I was less this summer. I don't know what to do about it. Birth control only prevents new ones from forming, not get rid of the current ones. I have been waiting it out to see if it goes away on it's own which is what they say will happen, but it's been about 3-4 months....how else can you get rid of it and the fluid retention. I can see it in my thighs. They blew up like balloons only in one spot. My pants are so tight. It is not fat, it's fluid. What to do! I am only 31. Tired of feeling like an old lady. I got the surgery to feel better not worse. I wish I could go back in time and never do it!
