JUst finished pre-op

Just got back from pre-op. Everything went great. I just have issues with the asthma. I have to take my inhaler and do a treatment before surgery. Got a pretty blue band to wear on the left arm until my castle day 2/8 for reserved blood, which I hope I don't need since it's not mine. Now the waiting get tough. Boy, this has got to be the worst part of the wait....

Just to reassure you- I have asthma and underwent a TAH with no problems. The doctors were all experienced with asthmatics. I brought my inhalers to the hospital.

If you also have a lot of allergies (as most asthmatics do), you might wish to tell them to use hypo allergenic tape if they didn't ask at preop. Although I made that request, the nurse goofed when taping the IV- I got an allergic tape burn and have a small permanent scar on my arm. My gyn remembered for my abdomen so no problem there.
