Intercourse pain post-op 3 months

I am cramping to the point that I get sweatty and then burn up. I curl into a ball b/c of the pain and all I want to do is sleep.
The next couple of days I feel as though my insides are going to fall out when I get up or sit down. The pain and cramping slowly goes away but it takes about a week. My ob/gyn says it is normal for 4-6 wks....what is going on, can anyone shed some light on my situation? Thanks

Re: Intercourse pain post-op 3 months

I'm glad you have discussed this with your doctor. I would like to respectfully suggest that curling into a ball because of pain from intercourse is not ok or normal. Perhaps it's just too soon. How many weeks post op are you? When were you cleared for sex? It may just be a matter of waiting a few more weeks. I've seen some women say it's painful at 8 weeks but at 11 weeks, it was wonderful.

I too disagree with your dr. That sounds ridiculous for him/her to call that normal. I would say wait a little longer and try again and be sure to use lots of lube.

What type of hyster did you have? (I'm on my phone and can't see that.)

Re: Intercourse pain post-op 3 months

it's been 12 weeks post-op.
The pain is debilitating!
My partner is well endowed and he thinks it's his fault.
I am at my wits end.

Re: Intercourse pain post-op 3 months

He may be putting extra pressure and stress on your vaginal cuff. I was cleared at 8 weeks and we waited 9. It didn't feel good for the first few weeks but it gradually got better. I feel for your partner, he must feel terrible. I would say make an immediate appt with your doc because it sounds like something is wrong. But you've been checked and he says you're okay so the next thing is to wait, go slow, lots of lube (even if you don't feel like you need it), and you should be on top so you're in control and can stop if it hurts. I hope it gets better for you.
