swollen belly

Hi Kathy!

I have found that the more activity, the more swelling.

Most gals report that the swelly belly does subside as the healing completes. (complete healing can take up to a full year)

Best wishes as you return to work; I would still be mindful, if I were you, of any activity that causes a twinge of pain - it's the body's signal to STOP that activity.

HUGS,

Mine is in the midrif area and if I over do it, bending or walking to far then it swells and I look at least 6 month pg.

swollen belly

Hi ladies! I can't say much about getting1 into jeans yet, since I am just 11 days post-op, but today I am so happy since noticing that the extra big underwear I bought for my operation is finally starting to feel real big and loose around my waist!

Hi Kathy. Glad you found us. I had swelly belly off and on for 5 months....and really couldn't wear my jeans comfortably until 12 weeks post...could barely get them zipped up at 7 weeks post...which is when I went back to work 1/2 days. I had abdominal inflammation (swelly belly) almost every evening. So, I took an ibuprofen and layed down for about 1 hour each evening - with heating pad That seemed to help tremendously.

Take breaks if you can during the day and prop your feet up for awhile...even if it's just 15 minutes. Rest on the weekends and/or your days off..and eveings when you get home.
