update: after setback

Hello sisters,

Just wanted to let you know how important this site is to me. Your support and understanding helped me understand more what was really going on.

My Dr. sent me back to my kitchen job at 6wkPO. I am now 11wkPO. I told him I was not physically ready. But he looked at me with a blank. So I tried, I tried until I was in tears with pain. THEN he listened. He gave me another 2 weeks to recover, whew, I needed it after working on and off for 2 weeks. After the extra 2 weeks to recover I felt like a new woman.

I have been back to work 1 week now and know I can handle it.

Sisters, make sure you don't over do it, listen to your body and make sure you have an open line to your Dr.

Thanks and God Bless to all of you.

Renee,

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us an update. I know you had a hard time of it, and I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. It is wonderful that you had the additional time off and are now truly feeling well enough to handle the physically demanding aspects of your job. I'm so glad the doctor listened and gave you the time you needed.

Thanks for the kind words about the site. We sincerely appreciate hearing that we have helped women. That is what it is all about.

Take care and stop in every now and then and let us know how you are progressing. Remember to take it easy for quite a while, and observe the lifting restrictions. My doctor said nothing heavier than 20 pounds for 18 months. Be mindful of what your doctor recommends for you.

Very best wishes to you,

Blessings and s

Good for you, Renee! As crazy as it may seem, when a Dr. releases us for an activity, it doesn't mean we're going to be ready for it...our bodies have a way of being "the last word". If there's one thing I learned through having my hyst, it's that we have to be our own best advocates for our health care, and this sometimes means asking our Drs. to reconsider their directives. I'm proud of you!

As Barbara says, it's always nice to hear that this site is of help!

My very best to you...
