Todays appointment....

was a total and utter waste of time!

I had worked myself up into a frenzy because I was convinced that my gynae wouldn't belive me.....and guess what....she didn't!

Basically she said that the pain I am getting is not from adhesions or endo because I don't have either...?
She said that before my last surgery in July, and I did!

Because I no longer have a womb or ovaries, the problem cannot be gynae so she will refer me to a bowel specialist and recommend a colonoscopy. Oh goody here I go down the
"you've got IBS" road again!

I came out of the hospital today thinking, so what is the point. I am 29 and going to have to learn to live with the pain I have and the fact that I can't do all the things that a normal 29 year old can do.

Now I am so sad and angry that I have to go through this...I am sorry to be so down girls but I really am struggling tonight. Give me a couple of days and I will be back with ya!

Thank you for all your good wishes!

Dear Vicky,

I understand....really I do. I was told the same thing by my Family Doc as well as the Gyn that did my hyst. I was in my Rheumatologists office when I had a major melt-down about everything. She referred me to another Gyn, who prompty agreed that it's possible that it could be Endo or Adhesions...and she quickly booked me in for a Lap. It was then that all of my pain was validated....as they found quite a bit of active Endo! Pretty sad though eh?! I mean we know our bodies best...we know when something is wrong....we know what the Endo feels like...I could go on and on. We have to take charge of our own health....we shouldn't have too...but we do.

I suggest dear one...after you've had a wee rest...go get yourself to another Gyn ASAP. Ask you Family Doc for a referral to a Dr who really knows about Endo. Any doc worth his/her salt knows that Endo can come back post-hyst...or you could have adhesions. The fact that your doc said that you don't have either is not acceptable. I'm :burning: for you....

Now after all of that...it is possible that you do have bowle problems...I know that I do. IBS seems to be a pretty common thread on this road.

Please know we are here for you...and PLEASE let us know how you are doing....xoxoxo

oh Vicky, sending you big big 's!!

we've all been told this at one time or another and have had to "regroup" and move on to another dr to get results.....I had the old bowel doctor routine too! I was told by a dr on the adhesion board (international adhesion society) that adhesions can reform in as small as 3mths and that it's not too soon to be feeling pain after a scope as they could be there......can't say that is what is happening to you, but just cause they remove them doesn't mean they can't come back!!!

I know how you feel, I"ve been there more then once, and no you shouldn't have to live with this pain for the rest of your life.......so sit back, regroup and then get mad and get back on the "road" again.........we are the only ones that can make this happen for us and we are all behind you 100%!!! 's!!

I do know how you are feeling. I've been there, walked a few miles in those shoes. One ob-gyn I went to actually said "you don't have a uterus or ovaries so I can't help. But do come back when you get yourself straightened out and I can fix up your hormone replacement therapy" Yeah, like I'd go back to her.

Judester gives some good advice. Don't give up. Find yourself a new doc and keep looking for answers. My journey has been a long one, but at least I've found a kind, caring doctor. I no longer come home from appts in total tears from being blown off.

Sending big s and I'm throwing in a too!

{{Vicky}},
I'm sorry you had to go thru that. I to have been down that path way to many times I've been told I have nothing left so how would a Gyn help me?? Hello, I am still a female It is disheartening, I have actually started to question myself before, like is this really in my head?? Like the others said I think it is time for a new Gyn. I cant begin to count the number of Docs I have been thru but I did find one that was compassionate enough to help me Hang in there, unfortunately we understand all to well and know the pain you feel.....

Thanks...

for the s Ladies, you are s

I don't know how I feel this morning..I think I am numb..(apart from the usual abdo pain, that is!!!)

I don't know what to do..do I wait until I see the Bowel guy and then ask to see another gyn or do I go for it now?

I don't know if I am strong enough to go through another negative reation.

I think it makes it worse because I found out through a friend that my DH's family have been telling everyone that there is nothing wrong with me I am just lazy!! Do they honestly think I want NO LIFE WHATSOEVER!!!

Ok, venting over!

Thankyou again for your kind words..oh dear tears coming...time to go!

I know exactly where you're coming from. I've been blown off too many times to count. Several times I've told myself that's it, I'm not going to another doctor. I would have to take some time and regroup and than I would get mad, and when I get mad look out.

I did take my dh to one of my appts and he got to see first hand how I was being treated. It really opened his eyes. He now has much more sympathy for me and what I am going through.

I know all the tests and going to new doctors is nerve wracking and frustrating. But I do think that you should keep pursuing answers to your ongoing pain.

Oh Vicky, I do wish it was an easier Road that we have to travel. Do know that we're here for you. The sisters here on The Road have been a lifeline of support for me. It was coming here that gave me the strength to carry on and keep searching.

Sending big BIG BIG s

Vicky, I know how you feel, I'm sure all of my co-workers and half of my friends and family feel that this is all in my head and "why don't I just get on with life"........ha ha ha.........like I enjoy spending half of my life "lying down" because I"m in agony

If I were you, I would see the bowel specialist , get his tests.....AND make an appt to see another gyn, you are entitled to a 2nd opinion no matter what and you have the ball rolling on both accounts!!! Any gyn is likely to order the bowel tests just to rule out anything there, so you might as well get that over with!

.......that's my two cents hang in there sweetie, we're all here for ya!!! 's!!!
