Worries about my mum post op- bleeding?

Firstly I would like to say that this site has been a fantastic resource to myself and my mum leading up to her op, for which we are very grateful.

My mum had a TVH and some kind of major reorgansiation of bladder and bowel position due to a bad prolapse. She has made steady progress, but now she is home and she has started to have quite a lot of bleeding, like the start of a heavy period, with some clots also. I am waiting today to find out if she has to go back into hospital, but as I sit here worrying I was just wondering if anyone could offer me any insight into post op bleeding from their own experience. Could she haemorage this long after the op (about 12 days) ? Is a transfusion likely ? Or is there a possibility they may have to take into theatre again ? We are both worried sick, so any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi There!

I'm really glad that you are consulting the DR about this, as the DR would be the one to address your questions. This bleeding does not sound like something to be ignored and could be a number of things.

But I would like to offer s to you and your mum. Hope everything turns out to be okay!
