Good Morning Best Sisters

My fever finally broke last night so I am feeling a little better now. DS is still struggling with his cold and the cough is getting nasty (he has asthma and that doesn't help) so he will be going to the Dr. today to see what is going on.

I 've done well staying OP the past few days..... Yeah!!!!

I posted yesterday recommending www.3fatchicks.com website to Traci for WW issues but I forgot that they also have forums in their message boards for many other programs also, such as low carb, low fat, low sugar. It is a nice site, you all should check it out!!

Well I am going to go and see if Dr. is in yet. I'll try to check back in later on.

Take Care, Dawn

Well, I had my weigh-in last night and, I must admit, I almost chickened-out. In the end, I'm very happy I didn't: even with the Valentine's celebration and the lack of exercise, I still managed to loose 1.6 lbs and to break past my first 5% objective. I now have only 1 more objective to break past and the next one will be the real one: 130 lbs. I'm only 17.2 lbs from it

I can just see that new bathing suit on my new body!!!

Question: I've noticed that my poor tummy looks pretty sad from all the stress of two pregnancies, the 20 week sized fibroid and the swelly belly. All kinds of stretch marks are covering it. Any insight on how to deal with that?

Hi BEST gang!

Dany -- I never had any kids and my tummy doesn't have stretch marks but even with all the working out I do, there is a definite bulge there that I would love to get rid of.........I have been told that since I had a vertical incision with my hyst I would never have a flat tummy. Tummy bulge has always been a problem for me but it is definitely worse since my hyst. Anybody got any ideas? As for the stretch marks, I think there are some body lotions out now that are supposed to help with that. I tried St. Ive's formula, I believe it was called firming lotion, on my upper thighs and hips because that's where my stretch marks are and it really did help, but you have to be pretty consistent, I was applying it every day after my shower. And I swear the stretch marks are not as visible. I think Jergens makes a firming lotion too.

Dawn -- glad to hear you're feeling better. I've gotten some good fat free recipes off the 3fatchicks site and it is a good one.

Well gang I don't know what was happening here last night I was all happy and I tried to post and after I hit "submit" it just sat there forever and I tried several times and finally gave up.
I am going to lunch with my mom on Friday and going to Sea World with a friend on Saturday, it's my birthday, and I decided to try on some jeans and figure out what I want to wear (yes I'm a fanatic about planning ahead!) and my favorite jeans that were way too tight a month or so ago fit now!! I was just thrilled last night..........all this stuff I've been doing is WORKING!!!
And it just made me even more determined to stick to it!! I was bummed a couple of months ago, when I couldn't wear those jeans anymore!

I picked up some fat-free brownie baking mix today called No Pudge brownie mix...........you add 2/3 cup fat free vanilla yogurt (or plain yogurt and some vanilla) and bake. I haven't tried them yet (and I know I will still have to use self-control here and only eat 1 and not the whole batch as soon as they come out of the oven!) but will let you know if they're any good. Besides regular brownie flavor they come in flavors like Raspberry, Cappucino, Mint, and I don't remember the rest of them.

Good luck all!! Stick to your goals!

Hi Ladies,

Glad you're feeling better, Dawn...and stayed OP!

Dany, congrat's on your good weigh in.

Ann, You drove me a little nuts last night. I'm subscribed to the thread and got 4 e-mails saying you posted, but kept being taken to the last one...not yours. Glad to hear your "jean story"...... it's working for you. Let us know about the brownies. What about calories?

I'm still having problems with the water intake. I was doing good for a while and then things got busy and I kind of forgot about it. I'm doing good with the food, tho.

Good luck to all.

Ann: congrats on the jeans now fitting. Isn't that a wonderful feeling Thanks for the info re the stretch marks. I had a TVH and no longer have a bulge. I just have these ugly stretch marks to deal with GRRRRR

EM: if you have problems with the water intake because you forget to drink it, I find that keeping a bottle, and keeping it full, at hand helps a lot. Also, pay notice to those times when your mouth feels dry or when you have a headache: they can be signs of thirst. If you have problems because you don't like water, my mom says that she keeps a jug of water in the fridge, to which she adds a few slices of lemon. She likes it better than plain water.

Keep up the good work ladies. And I hope that those of you who are struggling with colds and the flue are feeling better.

Hi Everyone

I totally went over on my pts today

I was starving when we got home from the Dr.'s office today b/c I didn't take time to have lunch before we went (big mistake!!) Planned on having Meatball Sandwiches for Dinner tonight. Had enough pts for one of them but problem was I had 2 of them with melted provolone that I hadn't planned on!!!

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day and I AM back in control now!!!!!

Dany~~Wow, 5% goal reached !!! I bet you feel awesome!!!!
I have a ton of stretch marks also and my belly looks nasty too but I don't know if I would ever be brave enough to bear it in public anyway so it isn't something that I worry about too much. I have heard that some of those firming creams really are helpful. Let me know if you try any and if it makes any difference.

Ann~~I am sooo happy for you that all your hard work is paying off for you. I bet you feel great wearing those jeans that only a few short weeks ago were too tight.... Good for you!!!
How were the brownies??

EM~~ Sorry to hear the water is giving you a problem again. WW does allow you to have Crystal Light drinks after 1/2 of the days water is down to make up the other 1/2. Maybe it will help if you get some flavoring in there then it might not seem like you're drinking so much water. By the way did you try the soy choc, milk yet? if you did, how was it??

Take Care, Dawn

Hi again all --

Dawn -- I haven't tried the brownies yet -- I baked a bunch of stuff the other day and I guess I am testing my willpower at the moment by not eating it. My brother-in-law and his buddy are doing a bunch of work around the house for us (my dh is in a wheelchair and they're doing stuff that he would do if he could) and they like to eat so I baked lemon bars and honey graham muffins and other then taste-testing them when I made them, I haven't touched them. But I'm waiting til that stuff's gone before I bake anything else (BIG downfall -- I love to bake).

EM -- I apologize for driving you nuts last night -- I couldn't figure out why it just sat on that screen forever and ever and never went back to the board so I kept trying (I don't give up easily!) I didn't think about anybody being subscribed to the thread getting notification........sorry! And I just checked the box and 1 brownie = 100 calories.

Hope everybody had a good day!
