My head is spinning in all directions right now! I had a physical last Thursday.....during the pelvic exam the doctor said your uterus feels large, I'm going to check it rectally. After that she said she was sending me for a vaginal ultrasound. I didn't think too much about it, I've had an enlarged uterus before. BUT, it was before menopause and my period was due, so it went back to normal. So of course I got on the internet when it actually sunk in. Today I tried calling my doctor to ask if she could give me more information about her exam. Of course, she's not in today!
My periods stopped when I was 57. (Older than most) I have not had any bleeding or spotting. I have been getting hot flashes, not really a flash, I get hot and stay that way for awhile. I have noticed some urine leakage when I laugh, cough or sneeze, but didn't mention any of this to the doctor because I thought at this age (61) it was normal. I'm trying to remember our conversation at the time and I think she mentioned fibroid tumor and said they could get quite large. Also heard the term uterine mass. Like I say, I wasn't really thinking about it while I was in the office...that came later. I would be grateful for any insight....after 3 days of fretting anything would help! Can there be a problem even though I have no spotting or bleeding? Thanks in advance!
