PMS Symptoms at 11 mos post op????

Hi All!
Gosh it's been sooooo long since I've been on here. This was my hysterectomy " bible " almost a year ago now. I have a question and I knew someone on here would have an answer for me. I am 11 mos post op and feeling great! I've never regretted my decision to have the hysterectomy. It's amazing how much better life is now!

For the last couple of months I have been experiencing PMS Symptoms. Up until now I have had nothing like this. I can feel the mood swings coming on, I am so tense and irritable. Also, my breasts get so sore and uncomfortable. Has any one had this same thing happen to them so far after their hysterectomy? I still have my ovaries, and so far there have been no problems.

Any suggestions?

I had my surgery 14 months ago and had regular, very intense, PMS symptoms from about the 3rd month to the 9th month. Then, I skipped a month. Since then, the PMS symptoms have been absent for the most part.

If you are concerned about this new turn of event, do give your doctor a call: your ovaries might be a little too effective and might have to be curbed a bit.

Hi Debbie, I can totally relate to your problem. I am just about a year post op and have been having such problems w/PMS and ovulation that I cannot stand it. My breasts are so sore, I feel as if I am pregnant and the irritablility is maddening. I am due to have my annual check up next week and I will be sure to bring it up wiith the doctor at that time. In the meantime, you may wanna have some blood tests drawn. I will keep you posted on this end and please do the same here.
