Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

I had a vaginal hyst exactly 4 weeks today and I woke up with a feeling like something is literally about to fall out of my vagina so I took a mirror and can see something like an oval shaped ball right at the opening. It is not painful but it is definitely uncomfortable and I feel like I have to keep my legs closed and I have had this feeling all day. I dont know if this is a reason to panic or is this completely a normal process of healing. Anyone with any info would be much appreciated.

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

I think it's time to call the doctor. This doesn't sound normal to me. Better safe than sorry.

I personally would rather look silly than wait and have something turn out to be serious and I didn't do anything about it.

Let us know what happens.

Call your Dr. I hope they didn't leave the packing in.

Sounds like prolapse. An organ is falling out of your body because it is no longer supported. Seek medical attention!

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

Call the doc ASAP! Complications can arise where the vaginal cuff has not healed or opened and the bowels can come through the vagina.

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

Home from the Dr and he believes what I was seeing was my rectal lining. I have been having issues with constipation and had been backed up for 3 days so on Wed day 4 I just started pushing really hard and it all came down but wouldn't come out and it just stayed there for about 3 hrs which was very uncomfortable and I couldn't even sit down. Finally I pushed really really hard and it came out so I must have strained it and made it swell. I am relieved and I want to say thank you for your responses. This site has been very helpful during my recovery and I hope someday to be able to help someone too! Thank you!

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

So very glad to hear your ok!! You must be relieved! Did the doc give you advice about stool softeners/laxatives etc so you can avoid this problem happening again? That straining can't be good for you!! Best wishes for an uneventful recovery from here on out!!

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

Yes very relieved indeed. He didn't say anything different than before which was to take milk of magnesia and ducolax. I have been taking stool softeners and drinking prune juice as well which is why I couldn't believe that I could not go for the 3 days. Do you have a suggestion on something that might work better? Thanks for checking back in with me!

Re: Feels like something is falling out of my vagina

Milk of magnesia has worked for me! I couldn't go for 3 days and i was miserable. Finally I drank that stuff and backed it up with a lot of water and 5 hours later I had a BM!
