Yikes! Another surgery

Hi everyone:

Well, I got the call today and the oncologist and onc/gyn decided that I need a laparotomy to take a look around. They initially didn't expect that my LAVH would turn up as ovca, so they didn't do the "proper" ca surgery (staging, biopsies,etc). SO, it's back to the castle for me.

I'm scared. More scared of what they might find than of the surgery. This has all happened so fast. One week fine, the next week a LAVH, 3 days later a ovca diagnosis and now another surgery.

The is to call me tomorrow to tell me when it will be. At least now I know what to bring with me to the castle!

Okay, enough of the pity party. On with the show! Thanks for being here. It sure helps to know you guys are out there.

I'm sorry you have to go back for another procedure! This is all going very differently from what you had anticipated, isn't it? I'm so glad, though, that they did find your cancer so early. Now they can just go in, make sure everything's in order, do all the checking they need, and then you'll be able to start your chemo to get rid of this!

Thanks for keeping us updated. Let us know when you're going in!

I'm so sorry that you're having to have another surgery but its such a blessing they found this when they did and are making sure that you are well taken care of. Doesn't help to know that I know, but its really does sound like you have yourself a good Dr.

Its completely understandable to be scared but even though you are, you also have a wonderful, positive attitude. Keep that with you!

Please keep us posted on how you're doing and when you get this scheduled. I'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers and hope they get you scheduled soon so you can get this rolling.

{{hugs}}

It's good that your doc is being so thorough. A laporotomy is truly the only way to have proper staging done and to have confidence that the cancer is removed. Not pleasant, but surely doable. Hope the surgery is scheduled soon, so that you can move on. You will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. oxooxkarenaan IIIc

Hi Diane

I'm sorry to read that you are having another surgery. But at least you have great health care people on top of your dx. Are you having an oncologist/gyn do your surgery? Take Care - RobinS
