Bring Ear Plugs to the Castle

I saw ear plugs on a castle list somewhere and thougth, "Now why would I need them?" If you want a detailed (and comical) account, check out my post "First Few Days Were Not Pretty" posted back on 2/27, 10:35am.

The noise of the roommate throwing up, staff talking loudly, babies in the nursery crying, vacuuming in the halls, beeping monitors - aaaahhhh!

I brought a DiskMan - but it died. I brought extra batteries, but it still wouldn't work. Plus it was more trouble trying to get it all set up, head set wouldn't fit right while lying in bed.

Good luck to all the Ladies in Waiting...

In a private room, you probably would not need them. I confess, I was at the end of the hall, far from the nurses station. It could be quite different down there!

I totally agree with Debra. Even though my roomie was great, there was lots of noise coming from the halls all night while we were trying to rest. Our room was right near the nurses' station and the phone rang there constantly. Something to block out the noise would have been good.
