It's over and I'm home

I had my surgery Thurday AM, and I came home this morning. I can't type long, but everything went perfectly they said, and I couldn't wait to get home. Now I'm sort of wishing I was still there at times - daughter's dog is a pain and the cockatoo won't quit yelling. Fortunately, I knew that would be the case, so I have my CD player and headphones by my bed and I just turn up the volume and drown them out.

Lots of pain, but the pre-op jitters are gone. Thanks for all your support along the way, and I'll check in more later. I took a lot of suggestions, and they were very helpful - especially the one about taking in a basket of cookies/candy for the nurses and staff - they were appreciative and visited me a lot - to "fluff pillows" etc. Very nice.

I'm sitting here laughing!

That comment about the cockatoo! Oh, did that bring back memories! My former (darn!) next door neighbor loved animals and had at one point two dogs (now she has I think five--but three are at her home until the rescue service finds them a permanent place) and a parrot and a cockatoo. Its cage was right by the window on the side of the house. With that bird, she didn't need the dogs to scare off any potential burglars--the bird made more noise than both of them combined. We'd be shouting at each other in the kitchen to be heard over the bird! Glad you're home--get pampered as much as possible--and thanks for that memory!

It's over and I'm home

Debbieg,
Welcome home! So glad you are doing well, despite the pain and the cockatoo! Sitting at the computer probably won't be too comfortable for awhile, but do check back with us and let us know how you are doing.
