Pre-op visit

Hello Ladies,
I had my pre-op visit today and all looks good for Wed surgery. I am having a bladder sling done also as well as the TAH.
I met with my doc first and he answered all my questions and the we signed the forms. Then I saw the lab, one of the floor nurses, and the anistelogist(SP) that will be there (barring emergencies) and we talked over my options.
I am a bit nervous still, but handling it pretty well.

I am not sure about what medication I want during surgery tho. Any suggestions?

My surgery is scheduled for 8:30 AM.

I sure appreciate all the info, love, and support this site gives to me!

God Bless and I'm praying for us all

Pre-op visit

Elaine,
Wishing you the best of luck this Wednesday! It sounds like you are just about ready.

As for medication during surgery, are you talking about what type of anesthetic? I had a general and for me, that was best. Other ladies swear that an epidural is the way to go. I think that really depends on your feeling about being unconscious.

If you mean pain medication or other meds, I did ask for meds to counteract nausea because I've had severe nausea after a general anesthetic. After my hyst, I did feel slightly nauseous so they gave me more medicine right when I got to my room and then I was fine.

Sending big hugs and prayers your way, Elaine!
