frustrated

Because I am a military spouse and the base we are on does not have a hospital, I had to be referred to a "civilian" doctor. I went to him on Monday. He has decided that he doesnt think that the fibroids are "that" big (he didnt get the sonogram report yet) and that he wants me to wait 3-6 more months before he decides to give me the Hyst. He gave me a prescription for BC pills and said that should help with the bleeding and pain. I had to talk to him for 10 min to make him understand that I had been going through this for 5 years and waiting another 3-6months was not acceptable. I had to prove to him that I had researched and was pretty informed and then he agreed to wait to see the report and then see me again in two weeks.
He seems to be against hyst. stating that he has had patients that have had the surgery and still came back to him about pain. I am at a loss as to what to do now. Any suggestions? I am going back to my primary care later today.
How do you get them to understand that when you are hurting everyday, even 3 more months is a long time!!!
ahhh!!!!
....and thanks for listening. It has been great finding people who understand what I am going through and dont think I am crazy...

It might be worth it to ask for a second referral. You want a dr. with a better attitude, maybe. Well, I would anyway.
