swelly belly and weight loss

I read several pages of old posts and couldn't find anything about swelly belly and weight loss. Do you lose weight after surgery? Or, do you gain from being in active? Please say things will be better for bathing suit weather...

swelly belly and weight loss

You might gain from being less active, but many of us had smaller appetites after surgery, so did not gain. Many lost some weight.

Since you live in Maine , bathing suit weather won't be until August (sort of kidding!) so you'll have plenty of time to resume an exercise routine.

Hi there

Keep reading there should be a lot of post about weight loss or gain after hyst. Post-op get those questions most of the time. I lost weight then I gained weight and now am losing again. So sometimes it is just left up to us to do what we have to to lose or gain. I need to lose a lot so I am not complaining. When you can exersize it will help a lot but be careful and don't start it too soon. God Bless.

swelly belly and weight loss

Well, it depends. Most princessess (sp?) don't have much of an
appetite after surgery, either TAH or TVH. It depends on how your
body reacts to anethesia after surgery. I had a TVH on 8/22/01 and was mildly concerned on swelly belly after. It lasted about
a month and I did watch what I ate, because I DID NOT want the
gas pains!!ouch!! I lost maybe 6-7lbs total and have been
able to keep it off. Exercise, drinking LOTS of water, even if you
feel you can't drink anymore, DRINK!!WATER! Even after 6months,
the weight has stayed off and I am back to full running, exercise
etc..and I still experience a swelly belly from time to time. That's
when I lay down with feet up. I'm not working on losing anymore
weight, but feel after surgery, and with all the "bad stuff" out,
my belly is better than ever!!! no water retention, bloating every
month, well, you know..it'll all be over and done with. Best wishes
and hugs your way. the new style sweats are great! in the
interim of button jeans & shorts!!

TVH, 8-22-01/fibroids..
