Feeling rather silly........

Hello dear sisters,
I went to the gyn on Fri, I am going to have surgery either in March 22 or April 10 for multiple large firoids, ovarian cyst.

I think I'm going through a stage of denial, when I get up in the morings I tell myself that my stomach isn't as bloated and maybe they've all gone away!!!! One can only hope.

My darling husband doesn't say very much, he seems to think that it's all fairly minor cos so many women have been through it. So, I'm turning to this site for some support.

My mum can't come and stay because my Dad has severe arthritis and couldn't make the trip (4 hr. flight). I am hoping like crazy that the surgery can be on March 22 because my husband and children will be around over the Easter vacation. Although my oldest girls are only 12 and 13, they are very capable and helpful. My husband, although not very communicative about bodily issues is an absolute gem around the house and with the girls.

I live in Brisbane, Australia. I'm so grateful for this site. Please could you let me know how you all felt about the surgery and during the HORRIBLE waiting period. If the Dr. said he could do the surgery tomorrow I'd be in there like a flash!!!

Diana

PS I'll know the surgery date for sure on Mon

Hi Diana!

Welcome to Hystersisters!

We're very glad you are here!

You certainly are *not* alone in your feelings about this surgery! We have all been there, sweetie! This is major surgery, and, unless a person goes through this personally, I think it is very difficult to understand the emotional aspect of it.

If I may suggest, you may want to visit our Chat room! The ladies in there are terrific, and you can talk real-time and get real-time support and have a few laughs, too!

If you are not set up with AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), then click here and learn all about it!

We will be with you throughout your journey!

Hi,

Believe me, the waiting is the worst part!

Sounds like you have a good support team waiting for you when you get home. It really helps you heal when you don't have to get up to do "everything"! And in your mind you will be at ease as well.

Let me know if I can help...email is always on!

Sara

Welcome

Diana

Hi. Just wanted to say hi and welcome to hystersisters. The ladies here are just wonderful. The support is unreal. The understanding of the other women on here of what we are going through is just so good.

There is also another forum for aussie girls, there are quite a few of us who are members. If you go to the main page, then Hyster Sisters Around the World, you will find the Australia forum.

Regards and best wishes.

Gail
