Different reasons, but looking forward

Hello everyone, I found your site just a few days ago and have been reading, reading and reading. I have come to one conclusion although my periods are really bad, that is not my reason for wanting to have Hysterectomy. It all started when I got pregnant with my daughter 7 years ago. My hormoneswent absolutely nuts. I had severe migraines thoughout the pregnacy. After my daughter was born, my period was constant for over a year. My doc then put me back on the pill (I already had my tubes tied) and from then on I have been fighting a hormone/migraine battle. I have done many hormone therapies to no avail. I am now on the Lupron Depot to see how my body would react and it seems to be doing fine. I know I can't stay on this treatment for a long period of time. If all goes well with a couple of months, she will gladly do the Hysterectomy for me. I just have to say, its only been a few days, but it is the best I have felt in a long time.

I am so happy I have found your site, it has answered many questions.

I am 35, one child, wonderful husband. Feeling good for the moment.

Hi Gray088,
So glad you found us!

It sounds like the Lupron is a "test" to see how you do when your ovaries are basically shut down. Glad to hear that you are getting some relief. Although I did not take Lupron, I have read that you cannot stay on this treatment for more than 6 months, as you mentioned. Whatever your final decision with regard to a hyst, we'll be here to support you every step of the way.
