I'm Ready To Spit Nails....

Hi my dear sisters,

I am having a rough time.

So Saturday, H takes me shopping for misc. hospital, home, grocery, etc. items and all goes well. However, in the car I'm going over my pre-op paperwork and see that they have my BIRTHDATE 3/12/68 listed as my surgery date instead of 3/19/02.

So I call the hospital and they say they don't have me pre-registered and that I need to call my dr. on Monday to have this straightened out. At this point, I'm nuts!! :hair:

First the wrong procedure code was input and now this. I swear if I could jump through the phone w/ these people and just say, "Do you realize how emotionally fragile I am at this time?".

Then, just to add more fuel to my burning fire, nature decides, what the hell here's your period one last time! I burst out crying as soon as I saw the redness. Then all these thoughts start flooding my mind....this will be the last time I EVER get my period...I won't be the same person anymore...I'm not going to have the organs I was born with...etc.

The cramps are horrendous, my 6 year old daughter has a fever and is going to miss her Brownie Troop meeting tomorrow. (The troop leader is soooo nasty). My daughter wants to know why I am always in pain and all her friends' mommies aren't.

I can't sleep. I'm bloated from this last cruelty nature has inflicted, my birthday is tomorrow (Tuesday) and I'll be spending it in pre-op at the hospital.

On the positive side, I did pack my bag for the hospital. It looks like I'm staying at a resort with all the stuff I have. I'm famous for my big pocketbooks and overpacking. But I always think, "just in case and you never know". I got the guest bathroom spotless and redone (new rugs, shower curtain, etc.) Now my bathroom looks like crap, to me anyway. I have six baskets of laundry that need to be folded and put away. More in the washer and dryer. Need to really clean my daughter's room and dust my house, vacuum, etc. I hope I get this magical burst of energy this week.

It's starting to hit me, this is it. 7 1/2 days. I hope I can straighten out the surgery date on this pre-op form. If I have to postpone surgery I will be writing you from a rubber room somewhere because I have had it.

I don't know what I would do without this site. I cannot thank you all enough for the kind words, funny thoughts, even just a quick hello. The info. I got from here and all of you is priceless to me.

Did find a star shaped little pillow with the word "Princess" in silver script with a crown. Had to have that for the hospital. May be silly to some, but I don't care.

I better be a pampered (yet punctured) on March 19th.

The waiting has been enough. Please send thoughts, hello's, anything. I feel so sad right now.

And my to all.

I'm Ready To Spit Nails....

Hi Dawn!

We are surgery sisters! My date is 3/19 also!

Try not to panic about the surgery date on your pre-op form...That should be cleared up in a matter of minutes! I don't think it will postpone your surg. date.

I know how you feel about the one final visit from good ole' Mother Nature....All of my PMS symptoms usually start about a week before the bleeding does and I can feel it coming on...Which means It will start the day before my surgery!!! Just laugh at Ma Nature and think "This will be the last time I have to deal with you!!!!"

I can't believe we only have 7 more days!!! I still have so much stuff I need to do, but if it doesn't get done....oh well! When I look back at all this in 20 years I'm sure I won't remember that my house was a mess! Or maybe I will remember, but I'm sure I won't care!

Try to relax a little (If you can)...take a nice long HOT bath and a few deep breaths....You are special!

Gina
:smokin:

Hey....where'd ya' find the pillow?????

Dawn

For tomorrow!
Phew you sound like you are spinning. Please Hun slow a little and know in your heart that all will be well. You have surely had alot on your plate to deal with and will be glad when it is all behind you.
Just take a few big breaths have a slow stretch and relax. Sit put your feet up and have a cuppa and give yourself just a wee bit of time to collect your thoughts.
I can tell you that the waiting is so the worst but once it is all over you can relax and just be pamperd and recover.
Do not go wearing yourself out by doing EVERYTRHING. What does it matter wether there is still some folding or dusting to do when you go in? Believe me being worn out before surgery will do you no good.
All the very best Hun and please let us know how it all goes, thinking of you Hugs Vicki

Busy Busy Busy

I had the same panic when my surgery was a week away and I still had tons to do. My DH took vacation so he'd be home the first week I was out of the castle, and my mom was going to come over the following week to help out. I wanted to get the guest room ready in case she decided to stay over or just got tired and wanted to lie down. The kitchen needed a good cleaning, the bathroom was a mess, the living room was cluttered... I knew I would not get it done in time. I finally realized if mom wanted to lie down, she'd move the stuff off the bed. Her guest room looks like mine. The kitchen would still need a good cleaning when I was again mobile if DH didn't do it first (you know they don't do that), I managed to get the bathroom done. Learn to let things go. If someone needs laundry, they can dig it out and fold it themselves. Things don't necissarily have to be in a drawer for them to find stuff. Sort the baskets and give each one their basket and deal with wrinkles for a while. Don't put yourself through more stress with household stuff. The house can wait.

Hello

I am sure that it will all work out for you. Obviously someone made a clerical error. You have lots of time to get it all straightened out.

Let us know how it goes!

I'm Ready To Spit Nails....

Oh you poor thing! I really feel for you!! You would think these people would be a little more sensitive to this! But I have had a friend of mine say my recovery should only be 2 weeks! Because she had a C-sec for her last baby, I dont think its the same thing though!!
Anyways, I know how you are feeling my surgery is March 29th,and when I got the phone call from my doc 2 days after I called to say I wanted the surgery, I freaked because I was told it takes the ins. co like 2 weeks for authorization, it took only 2 days!!!! I screamed YIKES!! This is hard for me too! The thought of all my organs that have made me a woman will be gone kinda works on my mental ya know! My husband is dealing good with me though, he understands to a point how I am feeling. I also know that God will bring me through this and I shouldn't worry whatever his will is for me I accept it. This is a great site to talk to women about how you are feeling we are all here for you!!

Another Day.....

Hi Sisters,

Many, many thanks to all that responded. I was at my wits end last night.

First order of the day was NOT what I expected. I received a voice mail on my cell phone from a friend of a friend. I can't believe it, even as I write it. Mine and H dear friend, mother of 3 with a DH, passed away on Saturday night in her sleep (cause unknown). Age 38. Great person, very dear friend. I am in shock at this moment.

Spoke to her friend for a bit and got details. Trying to get my H on phone to see if he is aware.

OK, so I had to make another call, so I put the tears aside for a few moments. Called the Drs. office and spoke to a nice woman who said don't worry, just cross out the date, put in surgery date and put her initials. She checked the computer, I AM (Thank you Jesus) scheduled for 3/19 and they received the new authorization from my ins. co. with the correct procedure.

I am going to try to relax a bit.

This may sound odd, but I have a seven year old sister (my dad kept busy) and my daughter is 6 and they are both here and a bit ill and I want to scream b/c they are running around like little tornadoes.

Mother Nature is making sure I don't forget her final visit as the bleeding is very strong. I mean I always had them heavy, but I'm ready to put on a Depends or something.

I have to honest sisters....I AM TERRIFIED. I am trying so HARD to remain calm and my mind is spinning and twirling. For anyone who saw the Doors movie, I feel like Jim Morrison when he dropped acid only I have no acid. No disrespect to anyone w/ last remark. Trying to keep sense of humor.

Did start taking 500 mg of Vitamin C tabs on Saturday night. It can't hurt.

Want to get this pre-op over with. Didn't lay down until 5 a.m. this morning. Kept getting up and wandering my house. It looks clean in the dark.

Will try to get some things accomplished, but I vow not to push myself and get frazzled.

Oh my sisters, thank you so much for the support. I know I'm not the only woman in the world having this operation, but it still hurts the heart, you know?

Please keep in touch. I will write tomorrow after pre-op and let you know what happens. Also try to celebrate birthday.

My love and hugs to all....

Please say afor my friend and her family.

P.S. Just got a call from my H and when I told him about our friend, he thought I was joking b/c he had lunch with her this past Friday. He's in shock. Life is so short. This is really getting me down. Now I'm thinking about death...

I'm Ready To Spit Nails....

Happy early birthday Dawn!!

My castle date is the day after yours. March 19th is my 25th wedding anniversary and I get to spend the day at pre-op and "dinning" on clear liquids!! And then the 20th I go for surgery. I guess the waiting part is supposed to be the hardest !?!? Try if you can to chill a bit. Take a deep breathe and let it go slowly.. It will be ok. I know it is easier said than done. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Just think....next year at this time we won't have to worry about mother nature pulling a wammy on us! AND..... THE WAITING WILL BE OVER. THE SURGERY WILL BE BEHIND US. AND WE WILL HAVE RECOVERED AND LIVING FREE FROM THE PAIN & THE MESS THAT GOT US HERE IN THE 1ST PLACE!!! YEAH!!!! ( NOT TO MENTION OUR NEW CROWN!) I hope you are able to relax a little. Lifes too short to sweat the small stuff like house work. Blessings to you sweetie! Take care.
