Hey, ladies, quick question....
Anyone had their surgery delayed because of illness? I have a nasty cold, and am scheduled for a TAH on Wednesday. I have called the doctor just to let him know, but have not heard back yet. Any advice? I am a little worried.

I had a TVH on 3/5. I woke up on 3/3 with a sore throat and a stuffy nose (Sunday). I called my dr on Monday and she said that we had such a wait getting the operating time that I should show up on 3/5 and if Idid not have a fever she would procede with the surgery. That is what happen.

If you are really sick they can cancel your surgery. Trust me when I say you want to be healthy for surgery!

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Iwoke up the sat. before surgery with a sore throat. The next day I had a slight fever- 99.5. Sunday I called my doc because that's what the instructions said to do. He said itshouldn't be a problem. I didn't have any congestion, though. I was so glad I didn't haveto put off surgery that Mon. 3-4-02. If your doc fells ok about it, I wouldn't worry.

Good Luck,

My doc said we would cancel if I am sick. Scheduled for Friday and hopefully my cough will be gone by then. Was on antiobiotics last week so I have my fingers crossed and am praying that all will be well by Friday. Good luck!

Normally, if there is no fever and lungs are clear.. surgery will proceed.
