answer to your questions

I had a LAVH on 2/8/02. I kept my ovaries so I would not have to take hormones yet (I am only 41 years old and if I have a choice to hold off menopause I'll take it.) My surgery went great but I am still very tired at 4 weeks post op. As for your vacation; if you are just going to rest, read, and lay around I think 6 weeks recovery might be good. If you want to swim, do water sports, and be physically active I would wait because 6 weeks might be too soon. Each person is different as far as recovery. Or, go ahead as planned anyway and let your doctor's orders and your body dictate how much you can do. Good luck.

many questions

HI there!
I am hoping for a LAVH myself and wonder about the ovaries too. One Dr says keep them for sure, the other says take them for sure...because of endo. I have read a ton of info about pros and cons for both. HRT does seem to be so hard to get straight.

I have my vacation planned for 5 wks after surgery. I am going as it's all confirmed and I will be doing the whole beach bum thing.
It's so hard waiting now. And stressful anticipating what's to come. Good luck to you! KimAZ
