Any Feb.21st. Princesses out there???

((((Lisa)))) I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time This recovery thing does tend to get the best of us, doesn't it? I remember just how awful and overwhelmed I felt around the 3rd week. That's when I "felt" my surgery, for the first time. For me, it meant abdominal tenderness, extreme fatigue and, as if that wasn't enough, that's when my ovaries decided to go to sleep

Lisa, while you are still very early in your recovery, feel free to call your doctor if this feeling continues: if it's enough to cause concern, it's enough to warrant input from your doctor.

Hang in there. Hopefully, you'll start feeling better soon. Sending healing s your way. Please keep us posted on your progress.

feb 21st princess

Hey there. I too am a Feb. 21st princess. I can't believe it has
been 3 weeks either. I had a LAVH and kept my ovaries. Sounds like you may be going through a little different recovery than mine. It has been an interesting 3 weeks with several ups and downs. I feel my recovery has been pretty easy except for the fact that my stamina is down. I have to keep reminding myself that I just had major surgery and it will take longer than I would like to feel back to normal. My doctor, who is awesome, reminded me of that very fact at my 2 week ckup., which was really almost
3 weeks. I can tell the next day or two when I have overdone it.
The last two days I have really been sore on the inside. I did quite a bit of walking the few days before this and believe it or
not I think steering (having to make major turns with the steering wheel) my SUV doesn't help. My blood pressure has been up and that hasn't helped in my attempt to feel better. Emotionally, it
is hard because my family sees me doing better some days than
others and then I FEEL there is an expectation for me to be doing everything I used to do at the same pace. They don't even realize they are making me feel this way...hormones....yuck.
They are great and would feel bad to know I feel the way I do.
I keep hearing we will feel better as time goes by...I hope that
is the case for you. Take care and we hystersisters are all in this together!

Hi Lisa

I'm a Feb 23rd princess, so we are pretty close.
My first two weeks I felt fantastic. Maybe I was just euphoric because I survived the surgery (and cancer). Of course I was sore but not really any pain to speak of, was driving by day 10. Overall though really feeling like myself.
Well then I hit the three week wall probably at about day 16 and it has lasted all week. Felt touchy, depressed, tired, etc. It was a real comedown from where I had been.
I don't know if this is a reaction to the anesthsia finally leaving the body, confused hormones, cabin fever or what.
Finally felt better today. Went for a half hour walk and out to lunch. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Physically I know I am healing pretty well. Been putting Vit E on my scar and it is going away nicely. Still sore in the tummy and spotting but no surprises there.
Had some hot flashes the first 2 weeks and not so many now. No HRT yet. I go in for my first post op check on the 26th.
Feel free to email me if you want to compare notes more often.
Keep resting girlfriend, it will get better

shelley
