any nurses with med terminology?

After looking thru old records for details of my history...find one diagnostic phrase after my myomectomy:

"leiomyoma associated with foci of adenomyosis" - that was describing fibroid tissue.

Now...does that mean that I also had adenomyosis?

Just curious. Doesn't affect a thing - they are disposing of all the stuff on April 1. Yippee...

I believe so due to the fact that it says associated with foci of adenomyosis. But it can truly be diagnosed during pathology after a hysterectomy. I found this on a search.

To find out if you have had symptoms of adeno you can visit this link. http://www.netreach.net/~hysterectom...denomyosis.htm

Mmmm, the old adenomyosis. It's something that can only definitively be diagnosed upon completion of pathology report. (Nope not a nurse, I used to have it). We didn't know I had it -- in layperson's terms it means that your uterus is getting bigger and spongy and boggy. Mine gave me the appearance of pregnancy and great discomfort. The links the ladies gave you are very good for the info. Cure: hysterectomy.

Yes, it is adenomyosis. I am not a nurse, but a coder in medical records so we must know all the terminology. I also had adenomyosis, ugly stuff! Good luck with your date at the castle!

ademomyosis ee gads

thanks for the translation! Greeeatt - so now my history reads: fibroids, endometriosis, adenomyosis, and ovarian cysts.

Why did I wait so long!
