My Dr called this morning and called in pain MEDSmmmm.......Need sister advice here..

I kid you not he called me this morning! I was going to call him and begg him for some pain meds! I was up all night last night in severe pain and cramping, not only is my leftside shooting pain but my whole tummy was crampy go figure. i cried all night! I was in soo much pain!
I asked him why lupron...His response was because of the cyst that it might shrink it ! he also told me that it would only be for a couple months .....that if it worked then we know that those ovaries need to come out......if lupron does'nt work then i guess were in a new ball game.......but either way those ovaries need to come out! I believe he wants to shrink the endo some more before doing another surgery1 Does any of this make sense? And i think he felt bad about no pain meds he called in some "Lortab " and told be if it did'nt work to call him! e told me if the pain gets really bad he'll addmitt me why i have no clue pain management i guess! I found some pain meds from my surgery last Oct they are lortabs 7.5 they take the edge off thats it... why the cramping my gosh it hurts:confuse: !
I do have a dr's appointment on april 5th with another dr for a second opion! I guess i should keep it huh? My dr is trying he appoligized and called me this morning i was shocked! he ask me how the pain was well on a scale from 1 to 10 its an 8 I told him about the cramping and how its in my back and going down my legs i just lay in a ball and cry! Thats when he said do want something stronger well duhhhh!! So i guess until i can decide what to do i live on pain meds for now
Geeezzz are we having fun yet !
Now why should i have my insurance company pay $1000 for 2 shots that prove nothing?
Either way they have to come out!
Gosh i'm just so confused although i took a lortab !

I am so sorry you are having to go thru this. I will tell you my experience with "lupron". I had to take lupron before they would give me my hyst and if I had it to do all over again I would have never taken that drug. I still to this day have hot flashes from it. I personally wouldn't take it again but know many people from both sides that have had good experiences with it and bad. My best advice for you is too research it a lot. Also I dont understand why they have us use this lupron right before surgery because it does shrink the endo and it is harder to find to get rid of then right? lol Dr.s cant live with em cant live without em.

Collette, do take it easy and if the pain gets worse I would call him pronto, he could always go in and remove the cyst and see how you manage after that, maybe you could keep the ovaries??
but I would let him know the pain has increased, hang in there! 's

Colette- Sorry you are hurting so bad- thats good that your dr. gave you some pain meds. Now if i could just get mine to do that .........
I hope he gets everything straightened out for you ASAP.

Hello, I am glad to hear that your doctor is showing some concern and that he prescribed something for the pain. I hope that these pain meds help with your pain.

If I were you, I would definitely keep the appt on April 5th for the second opinion. A second opinion can never hurt, then you will know if your doctor is on track or not.

I do think that you should keep that appt for the second opinion. Don't do anything that you're not comfortable with. I've never used lupron, although one doctor did suggest it to me before the hyst, but he never did try it.

I have decided to keep my April 5 th appt> i have a very pushy friend whom is going with me and kinda making sure i don't back out, also she is taking me to get my records !

I'v also decided no LUPRON i see what some of the ladies have gone through! I also can't see doing that if i'm going to eventually have surgery then he can't see the endo. I feel its a waste of money for 3 months it will cost me $159 and my insurance 1500hundred! I feel if i'm going to be thrown into menopause than just yank the suckers! I will deal with the hormone when the time comes!

My dr called in rx for Lortabs5 i took one last night and got some sleep ! During the day it puts me into a , but other than that it does take the edge off!

My husband wants me to get a second opion too! So for now thats where i stand and you girls have been great if it was'nt for this site i'd go crazy! Sending you all my love and tons of hugs and prayers for us all to have painfree days ahead. God Bless us all!

I'm glad you'v decided to keep the appt. a second opinion is a VERY good idea. I'm also glad you have a very 'pushy' friend I've got one too and when we feel under the weather they help us think more clearly, boost us up emotionally, and help us work through the pain. Of course we would do the same for them and in my case I have done in the past. So, just like the road, a friend like that can be a big asset in times like this. Keeping us on track to sort through our health problems when we really don't feel up to facing the daunting task alone. I really hope you can get some relief soon Collette

I'm glad you are keeping that 2nd opinion appointment...and I don't blame you for not taking the Lupron. I truly believe that drug was the beginning of many of my current problems.
