Overwhelmed but hanging in there!

I found this website one week post op and it has helped me so much. So many things that I am experiencing and realize that I'm not alone. I try not to whine too much but sometimes this is just overwhelming. This is my 5th week post-op and my Dad died just two weeks ago. I could barely walk just days before he died, but God was with me that day and helped me get through the day to plan his funeral. I had to drive from cemetary to church to the funeral home to make all the arrangements. My recovery is going well, although I must admit, it's not as easy as having a C-Section, this is more painful and longer to recover. It's encouraging to read from other posts that I will be better soon. Good luck to all of you pre and post op

Overwhelmed but hanging in there!

I'm so sorry for your loss, I really don't even know what to say. I'll say a prayer for you and your father. I lost my father many years ago, and I truly know there is an afterlife and that the spirit of our loved ones continues. My father was a heavy smoker most of his life. I don't smoke, nor do any of my family members. I swear sometimes I can smell cigarette smoke when I am driving, it will be with me for a moment or two, then gone. The same thing in my home especially in my oldest son's bedroom (no, he is not smoking he is only 11 and I am sure it is not him. Often it is when he is at school, just me alone in the house) I mentioned this to my sister and she turned white. She said the same thing had been happening to her every once in a while.

I don't know if this helps, but my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please try to rest and be good to yourself.

Overwhelmed but hanging in there!

Diana, hon my heart goes out to you. Unfortunately, I too know what it is like to loose a parent. I lost my mom 5 years ago to a Brain Anerism (sp). And you just had a hyst! Oh my, I wish I lived close to you to help you! Do you have help? Well, my prayers are going out to you ASAP... Love. Jos

Overwhelmed but hanging in there!

Hi, Diana -

Just another hug from someone who lost both parents before I was in my 20s - I know how very very hard it is, and coming on top of major surgery would make it even harder.

I'm glad your recovery is going well - hang in there. My heart is with you!

Overwhelmed but hanging in there!

*HUGS* go out to you...
I lost my mother to Congestive Heart Failure on December 23, 2001... and my sister-in-law to Diabetes on January 16, 2002. And I just had my hysterectomy on March 11th.

I know things are tough... if you ever need to chat, please email me.
