Home from the castle!!

Hello everyone. I had a LAVH on the 18th of March and got to keep my ovaries!! I came home yesterday, the 20th, and am feeling better than I thought I would. Other than being more tired than usual and needing a pain pill on occasion, I feel like my normal self, without all of the extra pain.

I thought I wouldn't be able to do anything for a few weeks yet I have been able to get around without any problems. Granted, I'm living it up as a "new princess" and am not about to do any of my normal household chores for a few weeks, but I am walking without much pain. The night of my surgery I told the nurse I wanted to get up and walk and I think I scared her. She was surprised that I wanted to move at all. She only let me walk around my room, but that was enough since I still had the cathader (sp?).

Anyway, thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I am well and very happy about my decision.

I am praying for all of you ladies in waiting.

(My pain pills are working well, so excuse any misspelled words or sentences that don't make sense.)

Princess Lovebug!

Welcome home, Cindy! So glad your castle stay went well and that you're feeling good. Remember to let your abdomen heal by letting everyone pamper you! It sounds like you have the "short easy walks" down pat. Thanks for encouraging all the LIW's!

Your feeling better than you thought you would.I am having a LAVH also on April 15th so that encourages me. But just because your feeling pretty good..please make sure you don't over do it!
Remember your body needs a fair amount of time to heal !
Did you do anything special before your surgery you think that may have helped you with how your feeling
I also glad to hear your pain meds are working so great for you..
Rest lots...drink lots...& remember to milk it all you can
Take care

Home from the castle!!

Cindy

Welcome home. I agree with you about the recovery. It was about 1/4 as bad as I expected. I stopped taking pain meds on day 8 post op and never looked back.

I was a good princess and followed all the training I had read prior to op. And, guess what? At 14 weeks post now, it has all been good.

Be kind to your body, enjoy the pampering and you will do well.

Hugs and best wishes

Gail
