have surgery date

My surgery date is April 3rd @ 9:00 a.m. Will be glad to get this over with! Will I be able to get up a flight of stairs into my house easily when I get discharged? (Guess I don't really have a choice!!LOL) I feel so much better prepared going in for this after finding this web site. All the information has been so helpful.

have surgery date

Hystersister is the best! My doctor said just about what seeshelley said, that I could do stairs if I could and to do them slowly. My surgery is April 1st and I am looking forward to getting it over with and getting well again This website has been enlightening for sure.

Best Wishes

Gail

Just wanted to wish you all the best for your op. I too had to tackle stairs when I came home. Before I did come home, there was a little set of steps at the hosp. I had my partner with me and thought I would give them a go. Really, they were not any harder than walking. Just take them nice and slow. Once I got home, I had no troubles navigating the stairs every day. I live beside a park and each day I went out with my partner for walks. Short walks at first gradually increasing back to my regular 30 mins each morning.

Once again, all the very best wishes for your op and recovery.

Regards
Gail

have surgery date

Hi Gail,

I'm so glad that your surgery date was confirmed - that's one less thing to have to wonder about right now, and now you can concentrate on the meditation exercises and on getting your recovery area set up.

I only have three steps into my home, so can't give any advice about stairs, but Buckkie's suggestion of practicing at the hospital before you go home sounds good, if there are a few steps there.

I'll be thinking about you and praying that all goes well for you.
