Happy it's over!

Jodie,

I was told 3 years ago that the only way to resolve my heavy bleeding, cramps etc was to have a hysterectomy. I decided at that time that it wasn't that bad and I'd wait. Last October my body decided that I wasn't going to wait any longer and I had my surgery on March 7th. I had only my uterus taken out with the understanding that if anything else was a problem to take it too. The procedure was done all laproscopically and only my uterus was removed. It was 3 to 4 times larger than it was supposed to be and I had multiple fibroid(all benign). I feel great! Once I made the decision to have surgery I thought about what was going to happen and since I had never had any surgery this also was on my mind. The waiting was worse than the procedure. I have had cramps worse than any pain felt from my surgery. I was lucky that I waited though because the procedure I had done would not have been available 3 years ago. The best advise I can give you it to ask questions and watch this site. You have to remember that everyone is different but you will at least get an idea of what questions to ask and look into. Also remember to use the search options because you can get a lot of questions answered by using the search. Good luck to you and I hope your experience is as good as mine has been.

Happy it's over!

Thank you for taking the time to post that!! That made me feel much better. I'm having an LAVH on Monday and have been so tense, but now I'll try to get some rest. Take care! - Amy
