Home from the Castle

Hi Everyone,
Got home last night, wanted to stay one extra night, guess just scared of the drive home. Only problem I seem to still have is the gas pains and worried a little about how to get the bowel movement thing corrected. That's where I seem to have the most problems. Other than that just tired and moving pretty slow, something I'm not use to!!! But I do feel better at home. Thanks for the paryers and support, nap time now!

Hey there Brenda

Welcome to the other side . Now that your home you know the drill! Rest, water & walk. Repete...

As far as the gas and bowels. Ask your Dr if its ok for stool softeners and GasX. I used phasime (which my Dr recommended). Make sure you load up on the water and take short walks in your home. This is a big help as well..

Take care

Hi Brenda

Welcome home! And welcome to the other side.

Shell gave you all the great advice. It all works.

And don't forget to add a little patience. It takes our bodies awhile to adjust back to normal. I was back on solid food for 3-4 days before things starting moving so to speak. Then it was pretty regular. Definitely keep the Gas-X and Stool Softener handy.

Take good care of yourself.

Welcome home Brenda (aka Gracie)!

It's so good to hear from you! I've been thinking of you every day and wondering when you would get home. You sound pretty good, all things considered, and I'm so glad.

As for the bowel issues, many of us had struggles with that. Don't wait too long to take action. As others have said, drink lots of water and start with some "natural" remedies if you can (prunes are great). Don't hesitate to call your gyn if things just aren't moving. My gyn recommended Ducolax and that REALLY worked, but sometimes you don't need anything that strong.

Hang in there. The first couple of weeks are tough, but it really does get better. Rest a lot, try to be patient. This is your time to be pampered. Sending healing thoughts your way!
