I'm sore!

Ok ladies, I have used this web site everyday as my stenghth through my recovery and now I need help. I am 9 weeks post-op(TAH kept overies)) and thought I was doing wonderful until yesterday I woke up with a pain on my left side and my tummy feeling rather sore. Last week was my first week back to work full time, I clean houses. Do you suppose I over did it even though I'm 9 weeks post-op? Shouldn't I be able to do anything by now? Also, shouldn't the swelling in my tummy be completly gone? I had to take a tylenol w/ codiene to sleep last night and am still sore this morning. I really appreciate you all, thanks so much. Karlene

I'm sore!

So sorry you are hurting.

I think it is probably the result of all that hard work you are doing.

I am 3 months post op and just cleaning my own house gives me aches and pains. I only vacuum one room a day because I get sore hips and the side of my tummy will ache alot.

I also still get the swelly belly. That is not uncommon at all at this point.

I've heard It takes 6 months to a year to get completely past all of this.

Can you get back into all this heavy duty work a little more slowly?

Best wishes.

I'm sore!

I am 14 weeks post and last weekend I did vacuuming for the first time and moved a few medium weight boxes. After doing this I had aches and pains in the belly, a sure sign that I had overdone it.

The internal stitches take a long time to dissolve, so try not to overdo it. If you have aches and pains, that is a sure sign, but if they get any worse, please don't hesitate to contact your doctor.

Regards

Gail

I'm sore!

Thanks a bunch ladies! I knew I could count on you. I guess I jumped back into full time work too soon. I went through 2 "replacement" girls doing my work and they were exhausted and my clients were calling wanting me back. People don't take change well. I just know I don't want to end up back at the castle so I guess they will have to understand. I sat around home today ( looking at my own dust) and am feeling better this evening. You all gave me peace of mind, thanks again. Karlene
