That darn tape! What is made with glue?

Ladies,
I am 9 days post op and cannot for the life of me get the small pieces of tape that remain off!!! Any suggestions? My doc came in on the Sunday after the surgery, started to pull them off, and I about went crazy! He told my hubby to take me to the shower and let the water soften the tape! Well, it did enough for me to slowly pull it off, but I am almost positive that I lost some skin as well! Anyway, now I have these little pieces of tape on my tummy that I can't seem to get off! We tried baby oil, even nail polish remover (my hubbys bright idea) and nothing! HELP!

tape removal

Just a suggestion but try Mary Kay eye makeup remover. I used it to remove glue from a mask at halloween and it worked great. no scrubbing at all, just wipe and you're done. It may work for the tape as well.

I agree.. the eyemake-up remover sounds like a great plan. I had a nurse that felt 'quicker is better'. She came in and without any warning ripped the dressing off my abdomen! Oh my gosh... I thought I would cry right then and there.
Good luck on removing that sticky stuff!!

or what about Avon's Skin-So-Soft? used that to take labels off brand new windows and one of the 100's of uses is as an adhesive remover.

good luck. let us know. i'm entering the castle on wednesday (3/27) and may be in the same boat.

hugs,

That darn tape! What is made with glue?

Guess what ladies?
My hubby tried the non acetone polish remover and he said that it balled up and came off beautifully! He had to rub a bit harder (don't try this till about a week post op) but I was able to tolerate it, wasn't bad, not like it was on my incision! Anyway, give it a try, I think that it melted it or something!
I'm not sure why your nurse just yanked that tape off! I would have strangled her! My own doctor could barely get mine off! SO I know that it had to hurt something fierce!
Anyway, probally a bit of a strange thing to use to remove it, but give it a try!
