swelly belly

Hello Ladies-
I am 3 month post- op from having a TAH and am still experiencing "swelly belly" regularly. I am wondering if anyone else out there has had the same experience. If so, when did it subside? I also still experience tenderness in my abdomen and am beginning to wonder if this is normal. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks for the help!

Hi Teacher,

I also had a TAH, and experienced swelly belly up to about 6 months, especially if I overdid at all. Also, the tenderness in my belly gradually faded away completely by about 8 months post op, so what you are feeling is probably normal. Remember, it takes from 6 months to 1 year to totally recover from this surgery. Of course, if you have any doubts about your recovery, please call your doctor.

Best wishes to you.

Boy! This swelly belly is a real pain! I had my little procedure done almost three weeks ago (does NOT compare to a hysterectomy) and mine is still coming and going!

I'm sorry this is happening to you - it's very frustrating, especially when you attempt to get dressed and find you can't! I had to wear sweat pants my first week back at work! How embarrassing is that?!

Hmmm...I wonder if you need to relax a little more, put your feet up and be pampered! That's my recommendation!
