do orgasms change after surgery

hello everyone,

Since my surgery i have not been as ***** as i used to be. i'm still a bit sore after 5 months. my doctor says my husband and i should have relations. sometimes i feel the urge but not like before. we are newly weds since 5/2000 and we were trying for kids, so we were very busy before all of this. we have tried oral relations a couple of times but after my orgasm i feel some pain in the pelvic area and my orgasms are not as intense as they were and they happen so fast and end so quickly. Has anyone been through this new development. I'm wondering whats next. My doctor just put me on HRT, estertest on Friday. How does this radical operation effect my future relations with my husband? He has been so patient, thank God for Him everyday. Thanks Sisters, God Bless you all. Lori

do orgasms change after surgery

Dear Lori,
I had a hard time, too, after the hysterectomy. And 3 months ago my gyn started me on Estratest. It has made a world of difference for me, in regards to libido, etc. I just wanted to tell you this...and also, I started noticing a difference after about 4 days, but especially in 3 weeks or so. I'm 38 yrs old and was 36 when the hyst was done. This can be a devastating thing to women, and husband/wife relations, I know.

My DH has also been very supportive and understanding and I thank the Lord for him

God bless you

Kathy I have read alot of really good things on here about Estratest...isn't that for taking if you don't have ovaries? What if you still have your ovaries? Thanks for the info.

Hi Creed,
Yes, there are lots of good things about Estratest..but as you have seen, many women just love it, and others have too many side effects and cannot use it. It just depends upon the person.
After 2 yrs it is the only thing that has worked for me as far as HRT is concerned.

About whether or not you have ovaries....well, I'm not sure, but I know that drs DO prescribe this for women who are past menopause and need some help....my aunt is one of them. I think some drs may be reluctant to give it to younger women who have had their ovaries removed, they want to see if just estrogen alone will do the trick. But for me, I had both ovaries removed, and estrogen alone was not helping me at all. I have found that a combination of Estratest and compounded progesterone (oral capsule) is helping me the most.

Of course you'd have to talk to your doctor about this kind of thing, and some other ladies here on the Jungle message board are better equipped to give you an informed answer

But even if you have your ovaries, if they have stopped producing hormones, wouldn't an HRT like Estratest be a good alternative?
Don't know, just thinking out loud
