Re-Silly Question

G'day once again,
Just a quick question that sounds a little silly to me but I need answers...lol What sort of underwear is best for post-op. I was thinking maybe big and baggy. Can anyone answer this for me?
Thanks in advance.

Re-Silly Question

Not a silly question at all. I bought white cotton briefs, one size larger than my normal size. I don't wear bikini underwear anyway, but if you do, I think briefs might be better because they'll come up and over your incision (if you have an abdominal hyst). Some of the ladies buy two sizes larger than normal, but I was comfortable going only one size up.

Re-Silly Question

My uterus was so big that even with the swelling after it was out I didn't need bigger undies. Bikinis would probably not be good because of the incision. I did wear sweats for weeks cause jeans were a little tough on the tummy!

Re-Silly Question

I bought stock in different weight panty girdles. They're good support for 'swelly belly' and Victoria's Secret has a nice heavy weight panty girdle with no elastic bands sewn on. I wear the light weight ones for everyday, and a heavier one when I'm going to be more active.

Re-Silly Question

I bought one size bigger briefs( only three) because at home after i stopped wearing pads I wore sweats with no undies-- to much on my tummy. Now 4 weeks post-op I can wear my regular size briefs.

Re-Silly Question

I also bought the high waisted briefs...two sizes larger. Besides your post-op wear, they are handy for many things...

Signalling your surrender... extra set of sails for your sloop... placemats... wrapping weirdly shaped gifts... emergency rain hat....

Re-Silly Question

I wear Jockey briefs and bikini undies all the time. As my surgery date approached I put aside stretched out briefs to wear. There was no way I was buying new stuff! They worked well. I trashed them after 2 months and bought new stuff! It feels great wearing undies with no stains after all those awful years! Didn't wear my bikinis until 4 months later, though! Go buy some Victoria Secret stuff for later. It will lift your spirits!
