Not Fibriods - Adenomyosis

Hello to all,

I had my ultrasounds done on Tuesday and the doctor had thought that it was one massive fibriod, well the ultrasounds showed differently. He said my uterus was huge and that what I have is Adenomyosis, so I get to pick a date for surgery at the end of April beginning of May. So this means I will have one more period which I am dreading.

Now is there other concerns with Adenomyosis? Such as my bowels and bladder? The doctor is going to call tomorrow to set an appointment up to talk with him and go over things.

Also where is all the abbreviations for these surgeries? I was looking at it the other day and now I cannot find it.

At the top of the message board is a message with abbreviations and other info. You can also search the net for info on Adenomyosis . I`m not good at directions I usually play around till I find the site by accident.
I don`t know enough about Adenomysis to help there. Hopefully some other sister can or your doctor.
Hang in there Paula

Hi Lis

I hope the adenomyosis is not too bad. I just read in my surgery report that I had it too and didn't even know. So I guess they got it all without any problem.
The 5th link down from the top of this page will provide you with lot's of helpful links to learn more about hysterectomy, surgery etc.
