I am hurting SO bad,.. can anyone help me?

Dear ladies,

I was told by a friend about this sight. I am at my wits end with questions and pain. I was told by my doctor that I could resume a normal sex life at 6 weeks after my surgery. As of Friday it has been 8 weeks. I have heald great on the outside, and every since the first week post surgery...I have been back at work as though nothing had taken place. My doctor couldn't believe how well I was doing. The night of the surgery,..I was even up walking the halls and taking a shower. I though,.."Hey? This isn't so bad."

I had my first sexual encounter since the surgery this past Friday night. He was VERY gentle. In fact, any more gentle and he would have been masturbating. We were doing OK for about 2 minutes,..then all of a sudden I started to have lower abdominal pain and bleeding. The pain was worse than ANY pain I have EVER experienced in my life. And that includes my three natural deliveries of my children.

I made him stop and crawled on all 4's into the bathroom where I laid for hours in the fetal position crying. He tried to help me up to bed,..but I begged him NOT TO TOUCH ME! I bled from Friday night to Sunday afternoon. The pain is located just under my scar in my pubic area. Here it is Monday and I am still in SO much pain. I have a doctors appointment this morning to see what he thinks about this. But NO one ever told me THIS may happen. At 41, will I always have this pain during sex? If I will,... I will end up living the rest of my life alone. Cuz NO man will be able to put up with what happened to me Friday night. =(

Have any of you experieced anything THIS painful?

I am sorry you are having such a hard time. It must have been a quite shock to have this happen after following the DRs instructions and all. I have read enough posts here to know you are probably not alone in even this experience.

I am so glad you are seeing the DR. I just wanted to say that is really the best idea. And I hope you will come back and let us know how you are doing.

Hang in there!! I had odd times of bleeding,, sometimes heavy,, and other times of severe pain, though never associated with sex...so I know how scarey that is. I am really glad you are going to see your Dr.

It is amazing how this recovery time is so frightening sometimes,, not knowing what is going on with the body we have always had. Even when there were problems, there was still often some level of predictibility,,, even if you would suddenly flood in public,, you knew it sometimes happened, or the pain,, or anything,, you got to know it and it was part of your life. After surgery it is whole new territory! I am just over 3 months post op,, and still have times when I wonder if this is normal,, so on. I sometimes feel hypersensitive to anything new with my body.....

Your Dr will make sure everything is ok,, then you need to listen to your body. Pain, even if it is not from a critical problem is a message to wait, stop, do something different, so on.

and it will get better! I am sure that in the future, probably not too distant in the scope of life, you will once again enjoy making love to your husband! Everyone eventually gets back to that point,,your body may just need more patient waiting and creative alternatives for a while more...

It must have scared you to death..I could imagine... all i had happen to me so far was my incisoon burst open and drain and i though i was dying..lol.. i could only imagine the fear you felt..Im so glad you are going to see you dr. Remember you are in our prayers I saw a post here with a prayer list I will add you to this..Let us know how you are doing. Wow!

You all are SO kind! I cannot thank you enough for such kind thoughts and prayers.

The doctor is convinced it is a bladder infection. He took test today in his office, however, those test came back saying I did NOT have an infection. He still swears I have an infection and is sending the test to the lab for further testing.

I still have to question where the bleeding is coming from. Not just spotting but BLEEDING. He thinks I tore a stitch inside, but could not find any evidence to that theory. =/

Also? IF I had a bladder infection, why wouldn't I feel some kind of pain or discomfort in my body ..prior to the sex act? Why would sex bring on such excruciating pain? Again,... he says it's my bladder infection. The one that the test say doesn't exist. >sigh< =/

Anyway,..he put me on an anti inflammatory and an antibiotic. He also told me to have sex on Sunday evening and if the pain is there again..get in first thing Monday morning.

I have to say,..this was the first time "sex" was ever prescribed to me by my doctor. LOL

So, we shall see what happens with the medication and time. Meanwhile,.. here I sit,..on pain medication.....still dealing with horrible pain. =/

Dear Kim, thank you so much for the update. I'm sorry your doctor didn't really have any positive answers for you. Hopefully, the tests at the lab will reveal something.

If the tests still come out negative, I would touch base with your doctor, once more, and try and find exactly WHAT happenned.

PS: I never had sex prescribed to me either
