Does anyone have Chronic Pain?
Hi ladies here I am again! You all are great! Well, if some of you remember I was supposed to have surgery Mar.20 to remove the ovaries due to endo. Well, we postponed it until after April. Because of timing issues. But, my Primary Doctor, who is so wonderful! I just love this lady... Anyway, we discussed somewhat if even after taking the ovaries if I had still had pain then what? I did have a partial hyst in June, hence now the ovaries. Well, the DD said well we might have to treat this chroniclly and deal with it. How do you deal with it? Does this mean you on pain meds forever! I hate this, but without it I would never be able to function... I remember one night I was in soooo much and had no pain meds. By the time I got to the DD he had to give a shot of Demerol to get ahead of the pain. I just can't believe that my life has come to this... It all started about 2 years ago. And has never been the same? Also, has anyone here have endo, even after a hyst. still have pain. Your input would be so helpful! Love. Jos

Does anyone have Chronic Pain?
{{Jos}},
I suffer from Chronic Pelvic and abdominal pain and I too will be on pain meds for probably the rest of my life. It is either suffer or accept the fact that the pain cannot be cured and do what it takes to be able to function. I'm sorry the pain is so bad, it does sound like you have a wonderful Dr tho There are several Sisters her who are dealing with Endo Hyst. My prayers are with you......

Does anyone have Chronic Pain?
Thanks Sheri, It kind of scares me that, it might be the case. How do you handle if you become immune to a certain drug, do you just keep juggling them around? Well, I definately know the loopy doopy feeling of the drugs are not there anymore. That is good. But unless I take something oh boy! I end up and the doctors office needing a demerol shot! How in the world did it come to this! Thanks for the input! Love Jos

Hmmmm How many parts of the body do you wanna know about.....???
Pain yeah chronic pain is sometimes unbearable ! I can relate to the pain and taking pain meds for long periods of time for my bum shoulder I've had 4 surgeries on since 1999 !!! Not to mention the 2 others.....so a total of 6 on this shoulder..... I know this has nothing to do w/ indo but with chronic pain and meds in general......
One avenue you may want to think about is to go to a pain management clinic, another is acupuncture < sp?> The pain mangement can help you deal with the chronic pain and help you through the rough times.....
You don't want to get caught up in the cycle of being dependent on meds. It's a downward cycle and from my experience those pain meds can add to being depressed....and being depressed adds to the pain...Now I'm only giving you my experience here and I'm certainly not a doctor. I hope in some small way I may have given you an avenue to check out with the pain management clinic....ask your doctor for the best one to go to and see what happens....Hey what do you have to lose????
You're both in my prayers !!!
I hope your pain eases up and you can get a handle on dealing with it .
God Bless,
Deb

Does anyone have Chronic Pain?
Jos,
I am sorry to hear that you are still dealing with all the pain. And sorry that your surgery had to be postponed. Alot of us here deal with ongoing pain, some of have answers for the pain and some of us don't. But we are all here to lend a shoulder to lean on. We are all walking this "Road" together.
I hope that the removal of the ovaries will lead you to pain free days. Don't get too far ahead of yourself and automatically assume that you will still have pain afterwards. As my DH tells me all the time "Think Positive"
Sending lots of s and ers your way.

Wow your going through the exact same thing i am! I too have endo adhesions and a cyst on my left ovary that was never completely removed! So now i'm fighting to find a dr. that will remove my ovaries due to the endo! My ob/gyn wanted to put me on lupron....he said if the pain subsides while on the lupron then he would take the ovaries out ect. But i will not do the lupron at this point to many risk involved and side effects! So now i'm seeking a second opion, I have a dr's appoint on fri. Boy i can't wait i'm soo tired of this stuff! I've been like this since my hyster. I'm with you this is very hard to deal with i sure don't want to live the rest of my life like this! I also have another dr's appoint the 15th and the 22nd all with different dr's. I'm determined someone is going to fix this before i jump off a bridge! I'm also having major bowel problems can't eat much nausated! The list goes on, i do believe the Bm problems are due to the endo adhesions ect...
I wish i could help you more but i'm in hte same boat you are, and the fatigue is awful! I just don't know what to do anymore there are days i lay on my bed and cry everymorning i try not to bawl due to the tummy aches i pray to god there will be relief i can only handle so much!
I do believe that if the ovaries are removed and the endo and adhesions are cleaned up by a very skilled dr.(laparscopy)! That we have a better chance of being pain free ! I would rather take hormones than deal with this my family is going nuts !
Yrs ago i found out i had endo i had a very good dr. that went in there cleaned me up and after that i never had a problem with the endo until, my daughter was born in 1997! Thats when the endo re-surfaced they say its hormonal changes that started it ! I do believe as down as i get and i mean i throw fits, crying fits! That with a good dr there is hope and right now thats all i have to go on!
I do have pain meds but i have trouble taking them because i can't have a bm when i take them and i'm bloated and hurt that way! If i'm in extreme pain i do take them!
I'm here for you sending you 's
Colette

4 years of chronic pain
i can't deal with this pain anymore. over 20 years ago i had problems with my appendics, they had to remove them and when they did they bursted right before they removed them leaving me with infections, and scar tissue. for 5 days i had a tube inside of me to remove the infections but i don't think they removed it all, now i have to deal with chronic pain, do to this my fellopain tubes filled up with infection and closed at either end (this the doctor found when i was 21 but he did nothing at that time) last july he finally removed my tubes after years of pain but this did not releive any of the pain
the pain has gotten so bad now that i hurt all the time, so i went back to the obgyn he said he could do another altrasound, but since i have been in chronic pain for over 4 years he wants to schedule me for a hysterectomy, (but he won't say if this will give me any relief)
i have been doing alot of reading and i'm not sure this is the right thing to do right now i was just wondering if there is anything that anyone knows of to help relieve some of this pain. i've tried sites bath no relief, demoral no relief, they have even tried cortosone injected at my tail bone but this did not give me any relief at all
in a few weeks i have an appointment with my obgyn for a pre-op for a hysterectomy, then the week after that i have an appointment with a urologist because at the same time he wants to fix my bladder ( i have leakage) in May i have an appointment with a gasterolist (the doctor feel that one side of my throid is longer then the other and it feels like something is stuck in my throat)
I want to take some time to make sure i make the right decision but living with this pain has become very hard, my marriage is taking a total (i'm just lucky that i have an understanding husband) my boss is not to understanding even with a doctor excuse he still has me doing jobs that cause the pain to worsen (having to go to different job sites, this means i have to do alot of sitting which is the worse )
be side all of this when they decided to do a CT to see if they could see anything that might be causing this pain they found a cyst on my kidney, (it looks like someone shot a hole through the top of my kidney) this was last May and thank God i have add two CT since then to just recheck the cyst and it hasn't changed at all. i was just woondering could this cyst have been casued by scar tissued that attached to my kidney? if this is what happened do i have to sorry about scar tissue attaching it's self to other organs in my body. this is so hard to live with i'm scheduled to set a a mamagram this month but it seems like everytime they have to do another exray of a different part of my organs something new shows up
right now i'm just so confused, i just need to talk to women who know something about what i'm dealing with

Does anyone have Chronic Pain?
Ladies thanks for all responses! And you are right I will not get ahead of myself and think this will go on forever... It's with going on two year I have know nothing else And now, Monday, I called to tell the doctor that I ran out of meds, the Oxycotin. And they said since we postponed the surgery they did not want to keep up with the Oxy. Ok, that's fine with me. So they did prescribe some Darvocet, and Percocet. But I think I am having major withdrawal symtoms from not taking the Oxy. I called the doctor to tell them. And nurse ask if maybe if it's just the flu! She is the one who told me if I had brake through pain with the Oxy, and used anything I could overdose! Well, my best friend is a pharmacist, said no way. She commonly fills the Oxy, with Vicoden to supplement. And that they should never have just said ok no more! But, the nurse did not even consult the doctor, just her opinion. So now I feel like crap! (sorry) Has ANYONE, taken the Oxy, and had this reaction. Oh, I was only on it for about a month. Love. Jos

PAIN CONTROL
NO not yet on Monday I go to see my obgyn for my pre-op appointment and I'am going to let him know that right now I want to get another opinion. I also hope that he can give me something for pain so I can take my time and get other opinions but I don't know if he will give me anything till then but I do hope he can do something for me if not I guess I'll ask my surgon that i see next week for my bladder problems and maybe he can help me till then I just keep trying to get through each day and some days are really hard like today it felt like the pain was traveling down my leg. This is so hard I want so much to get some relief but it seems like I just keep hitting a wall. I do hope that Monday thing look a little better. Thanks so much for caring
