baffled by my body

OK, I don't want this to long....to make it brief, I finally saw a pelvic pain specialist after years of trying all sorts of things, had a lap, did Lupron, and most recently continuous bcps. Whenever i bleed, I am in excruciating pain, and of course bleed like a sieve. The cbcps help, but I had problems with breakthrough....everyday. The bleeding was never as severe as a "regular" period of mine, and thus my pain wasn't as severe either. Pain wise, this was nice, but after a while, it gets so annoying bleeding all the time, and not just little spotting, but many days going through a regular pad every couple hours, and other times just a liner, but never no bleeding. I tried several different pills, and never went more than 2 weeks without bleeding till my 5th pill, Ovcon 50. That one worked for 3 cycles (of 3 weeks each, of course). I started breakthrough, so I took a week off, which sometimes helped. After I went back on, I was ok for a week, then 3 weeks of bleeding....I finally just got fed up and quit, bled another week and stopped. By then I had my long awaited appointment with the specialist, cuz I could no longer stand the run around with the pill, esp after having the 5th pill, crap out on me too. Besides, I'd started with side effects like frequent yeast infections, decreased sexual desire, and increased depression (I suffer from depression anyway). The specialist ruled out non-reproductive causes of my pain, and made several recommendations, including a hyst, along with my L ovary and clearing out any endo they find. Honestly, I'd been thinking about that for months, but wanted to wait to see the specialist. His other options wern't anything special, thing's I've already tried, mostly. Very dissapointing. So I saw my GYN to talk about setting up a date for a hyst, and she gave me info to read, and to call after I'd read through it, and schedule a date if that's waht I wanted. . That was last week. Now, what is baffling, is that I'd expect that by now I thought I'd have a period. I can't remember exactly when I last bled, and of course, it was a month straight, so it's not like I can count forward and predict a date somehow, but it seems like it should've come (not like I'm complaining). Plus, I've had pain for 2 weeks now, not severe, more headache-like in nature/severity. It just seems odd. I called to schedule the surgery anyway, cuz my thought is, I am 33 , this can't be permanant, it's just a fluke, but I am still baffled. I still want to go through with it, cuz I imagine, it will start soon, and I'll be back to square one, but this does confuse me. I just had to writer this out. I figured, people here would understand!

wow

That has to be so frustrating! I am 32...just had my TVH (among other things!) so we're around the same age. It just seems like someone would be able to give you an answer, you know?
It is scary to think that a Dr. would just perform a hysterectomy without having an actual diagnosis of something. But, like I said, I can certainly understand your frustration and need to have this out of your life for good.
I had similar mis-givings before my surgery Everything had prolapsed from my pelvic floor, to bladder, uterus, rectum....and it was annoying and uncomfortable, to say the least. But I remember feeling that it "wasn't so bad" before my surgery. Perhaps some people just feel this way, who knows?
Let us know what you decide. Take care of yourself. YOU know what is best...just look within!
