6 months Post DaVinci Hysterectomy

Hi ladies! I cannot believe that it has been six months since my daVinci LAH. I had my uterus, cervix, and tubes removed with my ovaries left. I have not had one single issue related to my surgery that I can think of. I lightly spotted the first few days after surgery and never bled again. I did not have issues passing stitches at all. I have not felt like I had surgery since the day that it was done. The only issue that I can complain about is the referred gas pain that I had the first week but the incisions and surgery itself was no issue. I have adapted to my sex life and it is still great as well. The "O" is a bit different without the cervix and uterus but not in a bad way.....just different contractions. I thought that I would have vaginal dryness and other issues but I was wrong. My doctor explained to me that moisture comes from the vaginal wall and is linked to hormones which appears to be true. I have been waiting for something to happen that I can complain about related to having a hysterectomy but there has been nothing. I am finally free from excessive bleeding and trips to the ER!!! My doctor did tell me to continue to take vitamins with iron in them until my iron level is at 60 or above because that is the point that he said hair, etc. is the healthiest. After years of being between a 6 and a 10 I am at a 46 and I feel a lot better. I hope that each of you feel better than ever soon!!

Re: 6 months Post-op DaVinci

That is wonderful! I wonder what my iron levels are? How do you check thru blood?
