i did it! attn pre surgery ladies!

Well, where do I start??
I have had lots of pain and heavy periods for years.
I had a TVH on 04/01.Kept ovaries.
This site has been wonderful for me, helped me make my decision and helped me to understand what to expect.
This is my first post, but I have been reading this site for months. My surgery went well, no complications.I had a spinal block and sedative.......what a better alternative for me than a general anesthetic ( I feel like total cr*p after a general). I am feeling tired and a little fragile, pain comes and goes, but my percocet does a great job!
My advice to all those waiting or trying to make a decision about a hyst is...find a GYN you like and are comfortable with, do as much reserch as you can so you know what to expect, and once you have made the right decision for you don't let others put you off.
I read all the good experiences and the difficult ones, I really prepared myself for the best and the worst!
I also made my husband and son aware that this is MAJOR surgery, so they need to really lookafter me!
All I can tell you ladies in waiting is...it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, and I don't feel as bad as I thought I would!
The worst pain I have experienced so far was immediately after the op, but I made sure I got lots of pain relief in the hosp.
Don't tough it out..use all the pain relief available, ladies!
Well, back to the couch!

Welcome to the other side

AngelaJane

Wow. You made it! Your post was really good to read.

Congratulations to the new princess.

Now you will be able to put all that reading into practice and remember to drink, walk and rest often. Be kind to your body and it will be kind to you.

Sounds like your family will look after you really well.

Best wishes for an uneventful recovery. I am sure you will give the pre ladies inspiration with your post.

Cheers

Gail

I am happy that you have done so well. Received my date for surgery and am very nervous. I hope I do as well as you. Best wishes to those who have gone through surgery and for ladies-in-waiting like myself.

I'm so glad it went well !!!

It was a relief reading your post !!! The waiting IS the hardest part !!! Like riding a rollercoaster of emotions.... Today I had to call my Attny. to tell him I can't be there for traffic court the 24th and he asked why...and all of a sudden I burst into tears....couldn't hardly speak....
I was UP yesterday down today....
I'm counting the days down......UGH............ 12 more days.....
And men....well if you're single like me they don't understand all of the emotions !
I wish I had a DH .......all you lucky women !!! But I have wonderful friends !!! So I'll be ok !!
But anyway thank you for the positive post !!!!!!
Take care and God Bless

Deborah
