Estrace

DOES ANYONE HERE TAKE ESTRACE? I'M TRYNG TO FIGURE OUT THE NEXT HRT TO ASK THE DOCTOR FOR SINCE SHE ISN'T VERY INFORMATIVE. I'VE HAD PROBLEMS GALORE WITH ALL THE HRT'S I'VE TRIED SO FAR. ANY BAD SIDE EFFECTS THAT YOU'VE HAD WITH THE ESTRACE? I'VE BEEN ON SUCH A ROLLER COASTER SINCE MY SURGURY 10/2000. JUST CAN'T THIS THIS WHOLE THING RIGHT. COMPOUNDING HRT'S MAKE ME FEEL REALLY WEAK, THAT WAS MY LAST ATTEMP OF HRT'S. IF ANONE HAD LUCK WITH ESTRACE COULD YOU LET ME KNOW. THANKS!

Sue,
Perhaps you could try and find a doctor that is a little more helpful. It really does make a difference when your doctor has some knowledge about hrt.

i AGREE kIM THT A GOOD DOCTOR MAKES A DIFFERENCE. THIS IS MY THIRD DOCTOR SINCE THE SURGERY 10/2000. THE LAST WAS REFERRED BY THE ONE AND ONLY COMPOUNDING PHARMACY AROUND. TURNS OUT SHE HAS PERCRIBED COMPOUNDING HRT A FEW TIMES BUT WAS NOT VERY EXPERIENCED WHEN IT CAME TO KNOWLEDGE OF HRT'S. I FOUND ONE DOCTOR IN THE AREA THAT IS SUPPOSE TO KNOW A LOT. TURNS OUT OUR INSURNACE WON'T PAY. THATS THE PROBLEM WITH HMO'S, I CAN ONLY GO TO DOCTORS LISTED IN MY BOOK. I'VE BEEN ON PREMARINE, CENESTIN, VIVLLE DOT, CLIMARA PATCH, VAGIFEM AND COMPOUNDING CREAM. HAD PROBLEMS WITH ALL(I'D HAVE TO WRITE A BOOK TO EXPLAIN) THIS HAS BEEN SOOO HARD. I'M A NERVOUS WREAK ALL THE TIME WITH OUT HRT BUT A MESS WHEN I TAKE THIEM. SINCE I HAVNE'T TRIED ESTRACE, I THOUGHT, I'M GAME AT THIS POINT FOR ANYTHING!!!! THANKS FOR WRITNG BACK.

Sue,
I'm so sorry that you're having such a difficult time. I've not tried estrace so I don't have any personal experience with it.

We have a new sponsor in the jungle who is offering hormone evaluations for $25, maybe that might help. Here's the link if you're interested http://www.hormonejungle.com/cpform.html

Sue123:

I took Estrace for almost 2 months. I took the lowest milligram of Estrace 0.5 mg. It helped at first with my moods & hot flashes, but it got to where I was having more mood swings & hot flashes plus my sex life was suffering because of vaginal dryness. I have used Vagifem also, but it wasn't enough. Right now I take Estratest FS..so far, so good. I do feel better but I am still moody at times.

Hi

I have been on 1 mg estrace since my TAH/BSO last August. My experience has been good so far - no hot flashes or mood swings. I have noticed some skin dryness and slight vaginal dryness..... I am just starting a trial of Vagifem in addition to the estrace.
Best of luck to you in finding a doctor to work with and a way out of the jungle!

I have been on estrace (estradiol) 1 mg since my TVH Feb 20. So far, I feel great. It is the only HRT I'm on.
