Did anyone else catch a cold after hysterectomy surgery

My TAH was 3/12. Shortly after I returned home I came down with a cold. I have coughed and sneezed for days. I haven't been sleeping because of the pain? Today it has started burning inside like it did when I first came home. Cough medicine isn't working. Pain medicine isn't working. Sleeping pills aren't working? Anyone else?

I caught a horrific one but it was a bit later than you -- about five weeks out. I ate nothing and could not become vertical for about two days it was so bad. :-( I just wanted to express some sympathy for your situation. After feeling better each day for a few weeks, it was terribly demoralizing to suddenly lose ground and be so miserable in the process. *hug* Unfortunately, I found that I simply had to wait it out. :-( Be sure to take your stool softeners during it. Your body has a lot on its plate right now what with recovering from surgery AND fighting off a mean virus.

So I finally decided to go to the ER when the oxycodode wasn't working and it caused unbelievable pain to walk. On my way home now. Fortunately I haven't ripped anything yet. I have bronchitis which is causing the coughing. I was prescribed an antibiotic, a cough suppressant, an anti nausea medicine and more pain pills. I have to follow up with the gynecologist next Monday or Tuesday. If the pain gets worse before that or I develop a fever I have to go back. And because I have a wonderful husband, he drove home from work to be with me and take care of me. He also bought me a beautiful new bracelet just to make me smile!

I caught one12 days after and it was horrible!! The coughing just plays havoc with the tummy. I took so much otc's snd narcs that I was in zombie land. I feel that this may have recreated my recovery time.
