Weird Question

I am new so bear with me. I am going to have a TVH on April 8 and I am wondering how wide they have to open your vagina to operate.
The reason I am concerned is that when I had my first baby, 22 years ago they used forceps and I ripped from to top to bottom and inside my rectum. Then with 2nd baby, 19 years ago the old scar tissue ripped wide open and things have never been the same.
Do ya'll think this surgery will make me rip open again? ( I am a great worrier!)
I will see my dr. Friday and I will ask her , just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about this.
I am guessing it will be okay since my births were so long ago.
Sorry, but I am neurotic!

Weird Question

I don`t think you need to worry about being ripped open like you were for your births- these doctors know how to work in a smaller place.
My doctor told my hubby after the surgery she would do a little extra work to make me tighter like I was in my 20s.Nothing too tight just better. He can`t wait to try it out.
You will feel better after you talk to doctor and he/she calms your fears. There is a web site with pictures- don`t remember where- that shows VH gross but you could search for it.
God be with you Paula

Weird Question

Lucy2 & ladypeewee,

Thanks so much for your encouragement. This is the best site ever!

I am kind of nervous about the surgery but am looking forward to feeling better.

I have severe anemia and enlarged uterus. I have been seeing a hematologist since Jan. 8th receiving i.v. iron injections weekly and will look forward to not having to go there all the time!!!

Thanks again for the support.

me too april 8th

hi colmar
i dont have an answer to your questions but i too will be having a tvh on april 8th. i too have been severely anemic and have fibroids and a polyp and very enlarged uterus. My dr did say that since i had a c section and a myomectomy then (16 yrs ago) .. if the scar tissue is too bad or anything adhering to my bowels she would might need to do a tah. she is hopeful for the tvh tho . anyhow i am nervous but agree this site has been a godsend!

Colmar

Hugs. I had a LAVH in Sep of 2001. It is very similat to a TVH but the surgeon uses a laproscope with a lavh. I can say that I think you will be fine hun. These surgeons are pretty skilled. I had heaps and heaps of internal stitches, and now am alot better than ever before. Tighter and so neat and tidy now LMAO.
Good luck with your surgery, let us know what the DR says and keep us informed. Hugs Vicki
