pretty scared

I use to cry so easily prior to my hysterectomy, I couldn't deal with anything stressful... and when I wasn't working, all I wanted to do was lie in bed. Not that I am lazy, I just felt so tired all the time, I physically couldn't get up & do what I wanted to do. I gained weight ( which depressed me, but duhhh now it makes sense, I had multiple HUGE fibroids, and I was given lupron... so I was gaining weight from all of that... nice huh?) Now that I have had my surgery, I have lost about 12 lbs post op within a 2 week post op period. On March 20, I had an abdomianl hysterectomy. Ia m VERY lucky, I had an uneventful surgery, and I am very lucky haveing a very uneventful recovery period. Believe me, once you have your surgery, you will feel so much better. Right now, you need to work on feeling better & getting rid of that pneumonia.

Cervix

Oops, forgot. About the cervix thing, well I didn't keep mine and sure do not miss it either. I was having abnormal smears so it was a definate to go. Glad of my decision to have them take it. Hugs Vicki

back at work @ waiting

Hi guys,
I am back at work after the pneumonia bout but am still coughing like a 40 year smoker (and no, I don't smoke). Am a little worried that it might postpone my surgery if it doesn't get better soon. I have that surgery perfectly timed with my work and in between semesters in grad school for my husband. I have to say, I feel so much better about everything since reading all of your replies to my post. It sounds a little weird I guess but I am almost excited about finally getting this hysterectomy over with. I am apprehensive about the pain and the recovery time (I have to be able to come in and work about three hours over the course of three days at two weeks after my surgery. It is easy office work - just a little time in front of a computer - but there is no way out of this). Anyway, I will be so glad to get it overwith.
I just can't begin to say how much help you have all been. I am on the 28 day countdown!
