whats the dif between adeno and endo

I am confused. Doc told me my uterus and rectum are attached by endo and she is having me do a bowel prep in case the detachment needs more work than she is thinking it will. But I hear lots of ref to adenoymsis (sp wrong of course) what is the dif between the two....?

whats the dif between adeno and endo

From what I understand (and this will not be in medical language), adenomyosis is the growth of endo inside your uterus...they used to call it endometriosis interna....I have adeno, but there were no signs of endo in my lap--YEH!! I don't know what adeno can do to other organs, but I know endo can grow on all of them. Hope this helps a little!

MJM, you are correct! Adeno is endo that grows only into the uterine wall(uterus becomes heavy and boggy) where as endo can grow on other organs besides the uterus such as the intestines and bladder.
