new here too!

I'm a 33 year old mom of 3. I'm scheduled for a TVH on June 13. I have an abnormally thick endometrium which causes very heavy periods with large clots. I also have bladder damage which is going to be repaired as well. I'm both glad and scared. My dr. said today that I could possibly go home as early as the next day but could stay longer if I felt I needed it. He is planning on leaving my ovaries but will take them if he gets in and feels they'd be better off out. I'm glad I found this board. It looks like it is filled with lots of information.

Hi Pam

I am 36 years old with 3 kids and having a TVH with bladder repairs also. My surgery is May 1st.
When I was told of my problem I started surfing the net right away.
This is the "best" site I have found. I come here every day. It is comforting to know you are not alone.
I have also gone to chat----you should try it.
My doc told me 2-3 day stay and home with a foley cath--due to the bladder repair.
Make sure you set up a good support team when you come home.I have the first 2 weeks totally covered. I am going to make sure I follow directions--do not want to end up back in.
Best wishes and take care

I am having my LAVH/BSO on April 16th...this has been the best support system I have ever seen...any question you ask someone will try and answer..or if you just need to vent, they all will listen! I too have a thick endometrium...I had an endomtrial biopsy that did not show fibroids, and a laporoscopy that did not show endo, but a very enlarged and boggy uterus. That with the heavy bleeding, large clots, stabbing pains, ect...they feel I have adenomyosis...has your doc discussed that possiblity? I have read many post of woman that say keeping your healthy ovaries is smart...I am sure it is...my doc wants to take mine, which kind of scarred me at first, I am only 31! But I did the lupron for 6 months and got total relief from my pain and bleeding, so he feels that is the only way to guarentee me a pain free life...so I am dealing with that and doing all the research I can on HRT! Best of luck to you on your surgery!
