ambien

I took my first does of ambien last night (.5 mg.). It helped a little bit but not what I was expecting. Does it take several nights to work? My dr. also gave me 5 nights worth.

ambien

Hi: I took Ambien also when I was having trouble sleeping after my hysterectomy, due to my ovaries not working correctly.

As far as I know it works immediately, with the first dose.

I also took the 5mg, but it is available in the 10mg, you may want to ask your Dr if you can take the 10mg if the 5mg isn't working for you.

I am suprised your Dr only gave you enough for 5 days..my Dr. gave me enough for 30days with 3 refills.

I would check with your Dr if it doesn't work for you at the 5 mg.

I didn't have a great reaction to my first dose of .5 mg either. I was wondering if your doc increased you to .10 mg. If so did it help? My doc only gave me 3 nights worth!

I am a major fan of ambien 10 mg!!

My doc said alot of docs disagree with the time length to take it. Some feel it is addictive and refuse to give more than 5 days. My doc gave it to me for severe sinus disease in which I could not sleep. He said I could take it as long as I wanted with no problems. I think I even fought it the first 2 nights, but after that it always helped. I love that not hung over effect in the morning from it. I quit it after a few months, then started back when I first was diag w/ fibromyagia, but the he switched me to trazodone.
