Need support

Hi all,
This is my 1st visit to this forum. I had my surgery on 1/28/02 and am feeling great :-) I have had a weight problem since I was 12 and I am 47 now. I have lost and regained weight in the past as probably we all have. Prior to surgery I had joined WW and had lost weight for 12 consecutive weeks , losing 40 plus lbs. I am so glad I did that as I am sure it helped my recovery process and the surgery it self. I went back to WW 4 weeks ago and went back with a 5 lb loss which made me very happy :-) The following week I did not go ( I hadent done well I knew and was also having hemroid problems). The week following that my hubby and I went away for a 3 day getaway and had a wonderfully romantic and fun time. Hence I was absent for 2 weeks from WW. When I MADE myself go back knowing I had gained weight I had put on 3.8 lbs. I guess I was glad that was all I had gained yet I was not at all happy with myself. I continued to do lousy last week and gained only .2 lbs. I have not been able to get my mind set back and go for the most important goal in the world to me and I was getting stressed knowing I could just blow it and put it all back on and more and have my dream still be elusive. I refuse to do that and feel after todays meeting that I have my mind set back and am here hoping I can find the support and friendships I found in post op when I was so needy of it. It was absolutly a Gods send to me and I still visit there and read and try to give support to those I can. I do know that this is where I belong now and I am asking you all to help me as I will try to help you to a happy and healthier self. God bless you all :-)

Wink - Need support Need support

Good morning Fall!
This is a wonderful place to find support! I know that you can lose the rest of the weight that you want to! Don't beat yourself over the head for the small slip. And believe me a little over 3 lbs is just a small slip! Take it one day at a time, decide to follow your plan TODAY, and go from there.
It is a lifetime journey and not something that you have to do in one week. Keep that in mind and you will suceed.
Visit this site often. There are lots of ladies here who give support and encouragement.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Need support

Hi Fall --
You've come to the right place. The BEST gang is a great group of gals. all trying to eat better and lose weight. Several of them are on WW, I know you will find friends here!
There is a daily post, started by whoever is here first in the morning, where everybody reports their up's & down's and how they are doing. Also different ideas they've found to help them lose weight, keep motivated to exercise, snack foods they've found that are low in points, etc. You don't have to post your actual weight or losses or gains in actual numbers unless you want to, that is up to you. We are here simply to offer support to each other and try to keep each other motivated.
Also there is a chat every Wed nite from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. EST. There is usually a topic of the week that was selected earlier in the week.
We are always glad to have another member join us -- will be looking forward to seeing you on the boards!

Welcome Welcome Fall!! Hope to see you beginning to post in the daily threads, because you have definitely found the right place for motivation, inspiration and commiseration!

Don't beat yourself up too much, you certainly have a huge succeess to celebrate and recognize in your initial 40lb loss, I will venture to guess that your recent surgery has also give you a sense of liberation from some health issues. Time to get back on track and as I started this post, the ladies here can help you do that. Each of us has our own strength whcih I think, gets passed along to the others. My own experience is quite similar to yours... so join on in ... let's struggle together and soon it shall be a victory dance. : )

A Numbers Game

Hi There...Welcome. I must say I am not a WW person, but as a woman of course, my weight is always an issue. But, my best advice for you is forget about the number on the scale and think about eating AND exercising each day for HEALTH. If you do that, you can only benefit and stay out of the frustration of the "numbers game". Don't weigh yourself - - maybe once a month if you absolutely must. Make your goal a healthy lifestyle, NOT a number on the scale. Just a thought. Good luck.
